Our guide was lovely. We circumvented the entire island with beautiful views all the way. Halfway through we stopped to swim. The water is so clear. It was a lovely excursion.
This hike and swim is fantastic, the scenery and nature on Kolocep is stunning. . I hiked with Mare in 2022 and enjoyed it so much I came back again with my family. Guests should know that if you opt to eat at the restaurant at the end of hike it’s cash only.
Great experience from start to finish. The tour guide was great. Hike was nice and pleasant with amazing views. Good advice on the cliff diving. Would highly recommend
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the walk through the woods and along the beautiful coast. The swim was wonderful, we did the “cliff diving” it was about a 20 foot jump into the water. After swimming we finished the last leg of the hike ending at a family owned restaurant on the beach where we enjoyed fresh fish cooked over an open flame. Hi highly recommend this tour!
A wonderful escape from the crowds! Zeljka was an amazing guide who took us on a beautiful wooded and coastal hike on Kolocep island. Very clean trails (some areas have loose gravel) that could have been a millennia old! About 2/3 into our hike we stopped for a swim that included an opportunity to cliff jump, about 20 feet. Zeljka used my phone to record a video of my husband and I jumping. After swimming we hiked another 20 minutes to a leisurely lunch at a family owned restaurant on a beach. Fresh fish was included on the menu and was cooked on the outdoor fire. A delicious meal! After lunch a casual 20 minute pavement walk back to our ferry. Zeljka also shared with us loads of details of the Dubrovnik area and was quite helpful with mutual feedback. Definitely bring 1.5 liters of water, per person, if you anticipate above 80F.
What a wonderful way to spend a day! Once we found our guide we then hopped on a local ferry for a 45 min journey to Kolocep. It's a lovely, small and quiet island with only a few villages. We had a good hike around the back of the island, the insect life was wonderful, we took some trails through forests and above coves. We would have never been able to navigate without a local guide. We ended up at a beautiful isolated cove, unreachable by bigger boat, and we dived in to the beautiful turquoise water. We swam and rock jumped, and then walked back to a sister village to our arrival, and had a fantastic fresh lunch in a family run restaurant. We then walked back on the main route to the ferry pick up point. If you love tranquility, nature, walking and geography, it's a must. We loved it and our guide Mare was very knowledgeable and considerate. A great way to spend some time in Croatia.
Fantastic experience. Our guide (Mare) did a wonderful job of walking us through the hike, stopping at points where the seaside and beaches were particularly beautiful, and explaining the history of the island. After spending a couple days in the Dubrovnik Old City, it was refreshing to do something a bit more active and to explore a more remote island off the coast. It was an amazing experience that we will remember for years to come.
I came to the tour after a small leg injury and met Zeljka at the port. She was a great guide, showed me exactly the right spots in the island and picked up trails that made it easy for meto go in. The tour is for soul hikers and is more recommended for ppl that enjoy plane nature, because the trails are not organized with asphalt and some of them are very rocky.
Really was an amazing trip with great walk, lovely guide ,fun swimming stop. And finished at lovely lunch stop an ideal day in Croatia.
We spent a great day on Kolocep with our friendly and informative guide. Wonderful views, some steep steps though so not for beginners or those with any health issues. We stopped for our lunch in a lovely quiet swimming spot by an old lighthouse. You will need to pack a lunch, drinks, sunscreen and a costume and towel if you want to swim. The trip over on the ferry there and back only took 30 mins but gave a real feeling of distance from the bustle of Dubrovnik. There was an opportunity to buy some locally made goods such as candied peel, liqueurs and natural cosmetics and there is also a bar for drinks whilst you wait for the ferry home. Gruz harbour is about a 10min taxi ride from Dubrovnik and there is a bustling fish and produce market opposite where you catch the ferry in the morning. I would thoroughly recommend the tour.
