Les divertissements en soirée les plus uniques et authentiques de Siem Reap. Plus qu'un simple cirque, les artistes de Phare utilisent le théâtre, la musique, la danse et les arts du cirque modernes pour raconter des histoires cambodgiennes uniques; historique, folk et moderne. Les jeunes artistes de cirque vous surprendront par leur énergie, leur émotion, leur enthousiasme et leur talent. Les artistes Phare sont des étudiants et des diplômés du centre de formation professionnelle de Phare Ponleu Selpak (www.phareps.org) à Battambang. L'association a été créée en 1994 par 9 jeunes hommes rentrant d'un camp de réfugiés après le régime des Khmers rouges. Ils ont été grandement aidés pendant ce temps par un professeur d'art utilisant des cours de dessin comme thérapie et ont voulu partager cette nouvelle compétence avec les jeunes pauvres, socialement défavorisés et en difficulté de Battambang. Ils ont fondé une école d'art et des écoles publiques ont suivi pour offrir une éducation gratuite. Une école de musique et une école de théâtre étaient à côté et enfin, pour les enfants qui en voulaient plus, l'école de cirque. Aujourd'hui, plus de 1 200 élèves fréquentent quotidiennement l'école publique et 500 fréquentent les écoles alternatives. Phare Ponleu Selpak a également de vastes programmes de sensibilisation, essayant d'aider avec les problèmes mis en évidence dans leurs propres histoires. Phare The Cambodian Circus offre à ces étudiants et diplômés un endroit pour perfectionner leurs compétences et un endroit pour gagner un salaire décent. De l'argent qui les sortira de la pauvreté et leur donnera le respect de soi et la liberté.

A wonderful show A fantastic human adventure We had a great evening Extraordinary acrobats
Don't waste your money. For $38.00 instead take your family home for a nice dinner for 4 people. The show is not a real circus. Horrible acrobats. Most of the short one hour show you see them crowning around. There is only one acrobat doing all the acts. So lame. This is for people who never seen real acrobats from China and Russia. Not entertaining at sll. Left disappointed. Don't go .waste of money.

This was the fastest hour of my life. The circus show was so entertaining that the time flew by. The entire thing was so well done including the welcome from the performers with drums, jugglers and cheering. The food available pre-show, and the entertainment before the show is top notch and the food is inexpensive. Every seat in the big top is a good one and the quality of the show is fantastic. The best part is that seeing the show supports the mission of this program which is to give skills to underprivileged youth in order for them to have a better quality of life. It is win-win and feel good all the way around.

Astounding! Heading in we just assumed that it was just another circus performance. But tonight’s performance blew our mind, from start to finish it was so captivating left us on edge most of the show, it was just incredibly breathtaking. It educated us on how much rice is part of the Cambodian culture, & how Cambodian people eat live & breathe rice & community. We’re truly thankful that we got to experience the show. It’s great to see that although born into difficult circumstances the circus provides access to people to learn about different art forms free of cost! A great initiative!
