STOP! Read directions for pick up carefully and look for every link and description. Even though everything I had confirmed pick up at my hotel, it was not “confirmed”, therefore we missed our trip.
The tour guide Helene/Helena would not stop talking the whole trip, while having the volume quite high. The whole trip felt more like a rambling rant in a mix of English, French and Spanish than a guided tour. We left the bus knowing more about her life experience than about the sights we saw on the trip. She insisted on waking people up on the way back to play some quiz that only the people in the front of the bus participated in anyway (a bit coercively). When we arrived at Mont Tremblant she repeatedly said we were to be back at the bus at 14:30. However, she started telling some people as they left the bus that the time was actually 15:00. This left half of the excursion waiting for the bus 30min before needed in the hot sun. The stops before Mont Tremblant were too rushed and we were given zero information about them. On the 1st stop, some people took over the seats that had other people's belongings and neither the guide or the driver settled the matter. Instead, the driver took off with people still seating down. It felt like the driver was in a rush to get over the day as soon as possible. Very disappointing.
Excellent Tour Guild . Very Knowledgeable . Bus driver was a very good driver . Tour was not to crowed I think 40 people or so . Which is perfect
I normally am pleased with Viator, but this time it is difficult to even give three stars. Gray Line asks you to call 24 hours ahead of tour departure to arranged pickup. I did so, but was still left waiting at the Ritz Carlton for over 30 minutes past pickup. The concierge at the Ritz said Gray Line does this a lot and she made me a map to their bus station. We got to their station and complained that we were missed at the pickup point. They tried to claim I didn’t call, but I showed them the call log on my mobile. Then they were just rude. If you read the reviews, it is the most common complaint. The second most common complaint is the tour guide asking for tips. My tour guide asked at least six times, even said they could add a stop at an ATM so we could get currency. The third negative is when the tour guide got political and bashed the US for sending them more Haitians, said they had more than they could support. Since this was an English language tour, this was most inappropriate, and even the bus driver had to tell him not to speak this way. Given that this was an English language tour this should have been 50% of the speaking. Our tour guide spoke French 70% of the time. The destinations were nice, even on a rainy day. We did hit several traffic jams due to construction and rain, but I did enjoy the villages. Honestly, I cannot recommend this tour. There are other methods of transportation to get to Mont Tremblant. Grayline is one star, the destination is five star, hence my overall rating of three stars.
not as listed, false information.on.schedule we didnt have tiime stated in the small.towns both very short and three hours ad primised but its too llong.be more orecise in the schedule
This company have terrible communication. Viator allowed me to specify a hotel pickup at 8am for a day trip to the Laurentian mountains. After 30 mins waiting for pickup it turns out that no pickup forthcoming. Was pointed to small print in GrayLine t & c that I had not seen to say had to call first and that pickup mysteriously would have been 7.25am despite Viator saying 8am. Went to their office. What then made things worse was the lack of empathy. No apologies for poor communication. No offer of refund. A shockingly bad experience all round.
Pick up from hotels may be much earlier than the 8:00 advertised departure. Guide and driver were wonderful.
It was a great way to see the mountains and several beautiful villages. I don’t think someone unfamiliar with the area would have been able to navigate the back roads to find all the quaint areas. Only negative, the tour guide was wonderful but mentioned his tip and when we were to give it to him - about 15 times. It was a fun day though.
Guide / driver was excellent. That is the consensus of the group of 4. The only negative was him being over cautious about the wait time to go to the top of the mountain at Trembiant .
Nice tour in the Laurentians with guide who informed us well. Pick up at our hotel was a plus.
