Amazing experience overall, would definitely recommend and go again. The view, the transport etc were perfect.
The tour guide cancelled my trip because of a logistical problem. They offered an alternative that didn’t work with my schedule. I’ve emailed Viator customer service deice to get a refund and no response. I’m very disappointed.
Dear Customer, We are sincerely sorry for what happened and for the inconvenience caused by the tour cancellation, which was due to circumstances beyond our control. We understand your disappointment and apologize if the alternative offered did not fit your schedule. However, we would like to reassure you that the refund has been properly processed: please note that it may take a few business days for the amount to be credited. This trip was truly the highlight of my time in Italy—it honestly felt like being taken from earth to heaven! My friends and I were speechless at the beauty of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains. We started with a smooth bus ride from Milan Central Station and then enjoyed an incredible private boat cruise on the lake. Seeing the grand villas, like the famous Villa del Balbianello, from the water was a total dream. Bellagio, often called the "Pearl of Lake Como," was breathtaking with its charming artisan shops and narrow, colorful streets. Crossing the border into Lugano, Switzerland, added such a unique touch—getting to see the Swiss Alps and strolling through the elegant Parco Ciani on the lakeshore made the day even more special. Our guides, Frank and Lina, were fantastic! They were so friendly and helpful, making sure everything ran like clockwork. The timing was perfect, the bus was very comfortable, and our driver was a complete professional. If you're in Milan, don't miss this; it’s an absolute must-do that makes the whole holiday complete!
Thank you for such a vivid and heartfelt review! Reading your words feels like reliving the journey all over again. We love how you described the experience as a passage “from earth to heaven”—that’s exactly the kind of emotion Lake Como and its surroundings can inspire. From the peaceful cruise across the water to the elegance of the historic villas, and the charm of Bellagio’s winding streets, it’s wonderful to know each moment left such a strong impression on you. Adding Lugano to the itinerary truly does bring that extra touch of magic, blending Italian beauty with Swiss sophistication—and we’re so glad you appreciated that unique contrast. A special thank you as well for mentioning our team—they’ll be very happy to know they helped make your experience even more enjoyable. We hope to welcome you again for another unforgettable journey! Serena
Very good tour the guide Super Mila, friendly the super friendly Maximilian driver too , comfortable bus and clear instructions and spoke to us and taught us up to Italian
Serena
This was such a great tour and the best part of it all was our tour guide Marina. She was fun, funny, smart and knew so much about history. We are traveling all over Europe and this was the best tour yet. Thank you Marina.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re absolutely delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that our guide made such a strong impression on your experience and your day so memorable. It means a lot to us that, among all your travels across Europe, this was your best tour so far — what a compliment! Thank you again for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure in the future! Serena
This tour was very disappointing and poorly managed. It started 20 minutes late, which caused us to miss the first scenic photo stop — something we were really looking forward to. At Bellagio, the guide instructed us to return at 3:20 PM, but instead, we were made to wait for another boat. This decision delayed us significantly, and we arrived in Lugano about 1 hour and 15 minutes late. As a result, we missed the opportunity to properly explore Lugano — most shops were already closed, and our free time was reduced to only about 40 minutes because the driver could not wait any longer. Additionally, the guide’s commentary throughout the trip was often irrelevant and filled with unnecessary remarks, including uncomfortable opinions about wealth and social class. The tone felt unprofessional and at times disrespectful. Overall, the experience was disorganized, stressful, and did not deliver what was promised.
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We are truly sorry that the day did not unfold as expected and that the delays affected your itinerary and overall experience. Unfortunately, an initial delay on the road, beyond our control, created a chain reaction of further delays that impacted the schedule and reduced time at some stops, including Lugano. We also regret to read your comments regarding the guide’s commentary. This is not the experience we aim to provide, and we will certainly review this internally to ensure a more appropriate and professional tone in the future. We appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention and improve our service moving forward. Serena
Our tour started badly, with little signaling from the company Ciao. After finding guides and buses, we headed to Como. There was a timetable to return to the meeting point and there was a passenger delay. With this, we lost our 60 minute cruise, planned in the acquisition of the package. In this waiting to check "the loss" of the cruise, our guides left us for more than 15 minutes inside the bus turned off, with air conditioning also turned off, under burning sunshine of more than 30oC. A lady went wrong. We followed by bus, in which the guide informed that we would take a "panoramic walk" towards the boat, at another point, where the information was that the cruise would be shorter. This panoramic walk did not happen, as the people inside the bus needed to close the curtains to protect themselves from the intense sun and heat (because the air conditioning had been turned off and did not notice the cooling of the environment). There was a lot of traffic due to the big bus, in narrow streets and many curves, with no help to traffic. We again lost time that would be used for a stop, which did not happen, since we took 1 hour and a half to travel a small stretch. Finally we arrived at the cruise site more than 13h, and we did not make any cruise, since we made a 5 minute crossing in a car ferry, on foot, because there was no place for everyone, with only one crossing to Bellagio. We only had 50 minutes in Bellagio to circulate and lunch (running), although the product informed that there would be 2 hours in Bellagio. That is, we only had time for lunch, without knowing the place. Finally, we returned to the main road to get into the bus on another car ferry, again on foot, to Lugano. I must emphasize that I did not pay for a tour to make a panoramic tour, inside a bus, but to have experiences in the highlighted locations, which did not happen due to disorganization. Half of the amount paid was refunded. I request full refund.
Duration of stay at locations slightly short but overall it was good
Wasnt informed properly. I thought it was being moved to Dec 6 then without realizing it was really cancelled. Bad thing... i didn't go to Lake como... everything messed up.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and for the disappointment this situation caused to your travel plans. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected illness of the guide at the very last minute (on the 5th late afternoon), the tour of 6th had to be cancelled. We immediately attempted to contact all participants through the available communication channels and as soon as possible, we issued a full refund. We fully understand how frustrating this must have been, especially when planning a visit to Lake Como, and we sincerely apologize for the impact on your experience.
