The tour in Chania was great, George picked us up right on time at the port and took us to a beautiful olive grove where we had a tasting; after that we went to a monastery that had beautiful gardens. My favorite part was the old town tour with all the little shops; his recommendation for lunch was perfect & his knowledge of the history of the island and commentary were on point.
Our experience with SudSud Tours in Chania was absolutely outstanding! Our guide, George, was exceptional from start to finish. He was warm, patient, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome throughout the entire day. The tour included everything that was promised and more. We enjoyed an excellent olive oil tasting, explored the beautiful island of Crete, and wandered through the charming Old Town of Chania, where George shared fascinating insights about the area’s history and culture. One of the highlights of the day was lunch at a traditional Greek seaside restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, and the waterfront setting made the experience even more memorable. George joined us for lunch, making the experience feel personal and relaxed while answering our questions and sharing more about local life and traditions. The entire day was perfectly organized, never felt rushed, and allowed us to truly appreciate the beauty, history, and hospitality of Crete. If you’re looking for an authentic, well-planned, and enjoyable tour of Chania, I highly recommend SudSud Tours—and if you have the opportunity to tour with George, you’re in for a wonderful experience. Thank you for an unforgettable day!
My husband and I spent a lovely and memorable day on a tour hosted by George of SunSud Tours. This was a private tour. George met us promptly at our hotel in Rethymno, and we set off on our journey to Chania with several interesting stops along the way. The drive along the bay was beautiful, and George shared the history of the region in an engaging and informative manner. One of our first stops was the Palladian Olive Mill. Unfortunately, there was a power outage, so we were unable to see the olive oil machinery in operation. However, George provided an excellent explanation of the process, and we also met Vassilis, who guided us through a tasting of several olive oils. We had never tasted olive oil of such exceptional quality and came away with a completely new understanding of what to look for when purchasing olive oil in the future. One of our favorite stops was the Holy Trinity Monastery of Tzagarolon. The grounds were beautiful, and as we toured the monastery, George shared fascinating stories about its history. My husband especially enjoyed a special wine tasting with Nektarios, the monastery’s sommelier. Later, we strolled through the picturesque harbor of Chania and explored the charming Old Town, filled with unique shops and inviting restaurants. We also enjoyed driving through the historic streets of Rethymno and learning more about the city. We felt our time was very well spent and thoroughly enjoyed our day with George and SunSud Tours. George is friendly and very knowledgeable and we learned so much about Crete, its history and culture. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the history, culture, and beauty of western Crete.
My wife and I did a 1 day tour from Heraklion to Chania with George. George is an amazing person, extremely knowledgeable, respectful and respectable, humble and has a great sense of humor. George gave us our choice of sites to go to on the way to Chania, picked the best places to eat and walk, and got to know us very quickly. I have studied Greek history since I was very young and George was still able to teach me a lot about the history of Crete. George knew when and where to be to make the experience the best possible one for us. You will not regret booking with George and if we end up in Crete again, not only would I want to book with him again, I would love to just say hello in person as a friend.
I had a great tour with George. The archaeological sites and towns were wonderful. George was very knowledgeable and focused on providing the best experience, accommodating for places of particular interest to me. It was a very special day.
George provided an excellent tour of Chania and the surrounding area on the island of Crete. We had the opportunity to visit the city of Chania and the nearby harbor district. There were several wonderful cafes, great shopping opportunities and the beautiful harbor itself. George took us to an olive oil factory and we were able to sample many types of olive oil and have the process of producing olive oil explained. It was amazing. We then visited a Famous Monestary in the area known for vast olive tree orchards and vineyards. We had a tasting at a wine producer located on the Monestary grounds. Again, that tasting was excellent. We also visited a graveyard where prominent people of Crete are buried and learned the contributions of those people to Crete and Greece. The tour was excellent. George provided the history of Crete from several centuries ago through present day. We highly recommend this tour with George! 5 stars!
Crete is a big island and we only had 3 days so decided to stay in Heraklion. You cannot visit Greece without seeing Hania and the best way to do this is on George’s well curated and wonderfully executed day trip. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history, culture and sites of the island and we made many relevant stops before actually reaching Hania. I could not recommend this journey more warmly
Our driver George was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and willing to answer any questions. Very accommodating about making an extra stop to the oldest oil tree in Chania! Highly recommend George a d this excursion!
Georgios was our amazing tour guide for our excursion in Chania. We had a small group of four and it was perfect. He took us to wonderful places with amazing scenery and we got to learn a lot about his hometown. This was one of our favorite excursions. The olive tasting and wine tasting at the monastery were a highlight! We would highly recommend this tour.
Great experience touring with George! He is very knowledgeable about the places we visited and is very helpful and responsive even at planning stage. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting the island of Crete for the first time!
