Kweku was amazing!!! Soo knowledgeable and friendly!!He toured us the entire Treme neighborhood explaining about the birth of jazz while playing jazz music in his JBL speaker. You can ask anything about France and Spain colonialization to jazz musicians and birth of jazz and rock and roll, and he can literally answer them all with such in depth story telling flare and passion!! It was Soo enjoyable that our entire crew from Dallas, California and Australia just had such an absolute grand time!!! Thank yot sooo much, Kweku, for making our New Orleans experience simply amazing and rich with history and culture!! Best, Jane & Craig
This tour is amazing. Extremely informative and our guide was fantastic! Treme is an interesting and beautiful place
Incredible depth of social, legal, and political history of an amazingly rich neighborhood. This tour, with the music accompaniment, was one of the most interesting and informative walking trips around. A step above the other tours.
Erin was so knowledgeable and informative. Excellent tour of treme!!
Very informative tour and a great guide, Claire! Learned a lot of history and saw some important sites. I think I would've liked less volume of information during stops and more talking and walking and covering more ground/seeing more spots. I know there were a handful of other tour groups and we had to wait until they were done at different sites to shift to those spots. We sat in Congo Square/Louis Armstrong Park for a while on a bench receiving info and I think some info and then time to wander together or as a group could've been nice. I'm sure it's tough because there is so much to relay to create a foundation and provide context. Claire was great at making sure we found shade and answering questions. Our tour lasted a bit over two hours.
Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area. The history of the area and the musicians was very interesting.
Great tour of part of the Treme neighborhood! Our tour guide was knowledgeable, outgoing and showed an obvious love for the subject matter. A two hour tour can’t cover all the history of Treme but it did give us some great information. Highly recommend!
Kweku provided us with a fantastic tour of Treme. He was a wealth of knowledge giving us a history lesson on the birth of Jazz and how it evolved over time. In addition he talked about the Treme neighborhood and how it transformed over time. My favorite was how he incorporated the actual music into our walk so we could actually hear how it progressed and changed. Very educational. I highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide Richard was excellent. He provided great information and was so respectful of the people that make up the Treme neighborhood. He included music as part of the tour and that was something we really liked. He really had a passion and loved his tour.
Our guide, Kwaqu, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable about the history and the area as well as the music. Very informative.
