Ronny was such an amazing guide. We did the hike and the tubing and both were fun but the hike and water falls really blew us away. Not a beginner hike and you end up crossing a few rivers so expect to be wet! Views were so cool of the falls and not many people here this time of the year. Felt safe in the tube rapids with 3 guides for the group of 4 of us. Thanks to Ronny for a great day!
This was a great tour and beautiful waterfall. But the trek to get there just about killed me! lol I quickly realized just how out of shape I was. You definitely need to be able to climb rocks and handle a bit of a swim. But once you get to the waterfall it’s magical! The tour guides do a great job. The tubing experience is amazing!
If you are considering the La Leona waterfall hike and tubing excursion — book it immediately. This was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. The entire experience was adventurous, exciting, beautiful, and incredibly well run from start to finish. Our guide, Wil, could not have been better. He was thoughtful, considerate, attentive, and made everyone feel safe and included throughout the entire experience. You could tell he genuinely cared that every person was having a great time. He struck the perfect balance of professional, knowledgeable, fun, and encouraging during the more adventurous parts of the hike and water crossings. The whole staff was fantastic. Everyone was engaging, energetic, and made the entire day so enjoyable. You could feel how much they loved what they do, and that energy made the experience even better. The hike itself was incredible — fun, scenic, and full of adventure. The waterfall was absolutely spectacular and worth every step. The swimming sections and river crossings added such a unique and exhilarating element that made this feel much more than just a typical waterfall hike. The tubing excursion was an absolute blast. The guides worked HARD the entire time to keep everything moving smoothly while making it unbelievably fun for the group. We laughed constantly. It was exhilarating, chaotic in the best way, and such a memorable experience. If you want an authentic, adventurous, and unforgettable day in Costa Rica with an outstanding team leading the way, this is it. Highly, highly recommend!

The waterfall and river tubing adventure was absolutely incredible—easily one of the highlights of the trip. The scenery was stunning, the water was refreshing, and every moment felt like something out of a postcard. What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, were our guides, Jeremy and Diego. They were not only knowledgeable and professional but also brought so much energy and fun to the day. Their enthusiasm, sense of humor, and genuine care for the group made everything feel effortless and exciting. Most amazing experience getting to the falls and then followed by playing in the falls!
Very nice activity! Excellent support by our guides. It’s out of the ordinary to cross rivers, to hear and see howler monkeys, to swim at the waterfall! Beautiful. The tube descent is very pleasant, the water level was low but still pleasant with some intermittent rapids. Guides are present and there is no risk. Beautiful river of 3 km duration of 50 minutes. Do it again!
My friend and I had a really great time and we loved that this excursion wasn't just a hike but river tubing as well. We went during Semana Santa (U.S. spring break) and so although the waterfall hike area was pretty busy, I didn't feel that the other tourists interfered with my friend and I having a good time. I would definitely recommend this excursion and recommend to do it as early in the morning as possible to beat the heat and traffic.
we LOVED this adventure! our guides ivan and oscar were kind, made sure everyone was safe, and patient! They took as many pictures as we asked for. The other tubing guides were fun, made the entire experience safe, and it’s was just a beautiful day and our favorite part of our vacation! highly highly recommend!
Absolutely fantastic all day experience. Douglas and Diego were great guides. The tubing part is for all ages and great fun. The hike to the waterfall is not hard. However, be prepared to traverse a few rocks and inclines. Highly recommend water shoes as both activities include walking through rivers with rocky bottoms. We had a great time and definitely recommend this.
