Fun event. Tour guide assists with navigating route.
This place is hands down the best in customer service. Wife has a wheelchair and they drove her down to the launch. Our tour guide, Sebastian was the chillest and funniest guide who made the trip a great memory. He almost got me to think i could kayak surf LOL. Great experience all in all.
Lovely day out on the water. Our tour guide Allie (sp?) was super friendly, informative, and engaging. She made sure all tour participants were safe and feeling comfortable out on the water at all times. Conditions didn’t allow us to go inside the caves which admittedly was a pretty big bummer, but still 10/10 would recommend.
This tour was so much fun! The tour guides Maddie and Yaseen were so friendly and made the experience a lot of fun. They were very enthusiastic and did a great job explaining everything. I would definitely book again!
Emily was awesome. She was very friendly, communicative, and knowledgeable. However, my negative review comes from a bad experience with one of the other employees. This was my boyfriend and I's first ever experience kayaking. As we were doing the initial launch into the water, another employee (who i did not get the name of, but he was wearing purple/blue shorts) was helping us get inside the boat and then pretty much left us to our own devices after that. The waves were super strong and our kayak flipped. We were super disoriented and could barely see and another wave came in and the kayak flipped again over my head. After emerging from the water, this employee yelled at us saying "Do not get in front of the kayak after it flips, come on guys, think!" My boyfriend and I were in shock that this is how we were talked to and made us scared/hesitant as beginners. We couldn't even see where we were in the water, how were we supposed to know we were in front of the kayak??!! We got back in the kayak again (all he did was let us get on, pushed us into the water a little bit, and left us alone again) and fortunately, we were able to make it to the checkpoint bouey, but my boyfriend ended up feeling extremely anxious and sea-sick, that we had to turn back around and not do the rest of the tour. I want to emphasize that our dissatisfaction does not come from Emily or the rest of the staff, as everyone else has been super supportive and nice. It was because of the negative experience we had with this particular employee that I am disappointed with the service. If you so happen to figure out who this employee is, I want to let him know that he needs to approach his job with more empathy and think twice about how he talks to people. A lot of people doing these tours are beginners, and each and every interaction a customer has, significantly impacts the outcome of the tour. If it wasn't for the negative energy and yelling I got from this guy, my boyfriend would not have been so anxious and on the brink of a panic attack and I wouldn't have left this kind of review. Please please let your employees know to approach this job with the necessary empathy and people skills. The customers here travel from all different places just to experience this kayak tour. This guy clearly does not like his job and was fed up with us at only 12:30pm. I was disappointed by his lack of effort, as I saw some other employees helping other customers through as many waves as they could, whereas this guy barely even touched our boat. You might view this as a tiny complaint, but again, every single little interaction matters. Please let this guy know that he needs to do better and maybe he will be happier in a different job. I do not think I will be coming back unless this guy and other people like him are fired.
Was a great experience! Maddy was a fantastic tour guide; experienced, and very helpful for a newbie to sea kayaking like myself, helping to navigate waves, etc. I appreciated her dad jokes 😃. We saw sea lions in the water and up on the rocks and took a trip through the caves. Very peaceful and enjoyable.
I have lived in San Diego for 20 years and have never done this before. I would highly recommend this tour to locals and visitors! The tour guides were excellent and made the experience entertaining, fun, and hilarious. My daughters (age 11 and 9) really enjoyed the whole tour and it was such a magical way to see this amazing part of our city.
We had a lot of fun kayaking the waves and near the caves. It was a gorgeous experience! A sea lion swam right up to our group too. So cool! Our guides (Alex and Delainey) were a hoot and made the experience awesome!
Our tour guides were Delaney and Luca and they were both very funny and cool, and did everything they could to keep us safe. As first time kayakers, my family and I were nervous but the guides’ confident and friendly presences really helped us calm down and get the hang of it fast! The actual tour was gorgeous and once our nerves were gone, so much fun! It was very satisfying to find the right rhythm with my partner. We got to see a leopard shark and sea lions, and the caves were a wonder to be able to see! We had a great time and would love to try kayaking again in the future!
We went out with our group of six and another group of 3. It was amazing. The views, the animals we saw and our tour guide Shay, did not disappoint. We weren’t able to go in the cave because of the hurricane off the coast but still had the best time. Would definitely recommend.
