The most wasted money of our stay in the Canary Islands. What we visited was, in general, very good. But what ruined the trip was the food arranged by the company Fred Olsen; the restaurant, if you can call it that, "Las Rosas," was shabby, with bad food, terrible service, and unfriendly staff; we all left hungry. The whistler is also a waitress, and after whistling by putting her hands in her mouth without washing them, she starts to arrange the bread. The menu: a horrible broth, half a ladle, hardly anyone ate it, and for the second course, meat or fish, scarce, not even a small portion, and just one potato! Absolute shabbiness. The fish had a terrible taste. We ordered beer, and we were charged separately because it is not included in the arranged menu. They literally throw the plates on the table and then rudely ask you to pass the plates from the neighboring diners. At our table, everyone was hungry and upset. We told the guide, although I don't think it was of any use...
I was trying to book a jeep tour not a coach. I had no confirmation of what sort of tour it was to be. If I knew it was a coach I would have cancelled
Sorry the trip wasnt what you expected. Usually if an excursion is in a jeep it would specify as jeep safari excursion. Hopefully next time you can do the jeep instead.
To say that we went by boat between La Gomera, Tenerife and La Palma sounds romantic, but the truth is that the Atlantic decided to test us! Even with the sea a little upset and the boat swinging more than expected — while some passengers counted the minutes to get to land and had a little bad time — we stayed firm. We were authentic sailors, holding the balance and appreciating the strength of the ocean between each island. From the magical forests of Gomera, through the imposition of the Teide in Tenerife, to the infinite green of "Isla Bonita" (La Palma), this route was an epic adventure. The legs may have trembled a little, but the spirit of navigator came out reinforced!
Obrigado pela sua ótima avaliação. Ficamos felizes que o mar não tenha atrapalhado sua aventura e que você tenha tido momentos incríveis.
Good guide, great arrangement and safe travel at all levels
Many thanks for a great review.
I booked this excursion last minute. The day started off very misty in the La Gomera mountains, so misty that the first photo stop was pretty pointless as you couldn’t see anything. Travelling into Garajonhay National park was very lovely and the bus driver negotiated some tight bends and narrow roads expertly. Lunch was very nice at a restaurant in Las Rosas with a potato soup starter, beef and potato stew main course and creme caramel dessert and the restaurant staff were very attentive asking if anyone wanted seconds. At the beginning of the day we were told that we would have an hour to explore San Sebastián, however by the time we arrived back and were dropped off in San Sebastián, there was only really time for a quick drink in a cafe on the sea front before needing to get ourselves to the ferry terminal. I would have liked to have visited the church advertised in the itinerary, however none of these were pointed out or directions given before we were dropped off and left to our own devices. Arriving back in Tenerife was a bit chaotic with trying to find which bus you needed to be on and this I feel could have been organised better.
Gomera is definitely worth a visit. We had the bad luck with Kalima. Which meant we couldn't enjoy your view in the mountains. This cannot be influenced. But what disturbed me was that they had a too large group, 60 people. The guide spoke four languages. There should be no more than two. A bit tragicomic was that she especially with numbers had different information in different languages.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We’re really happy to hear that you think La Gomera is worth a visit. It’s truly a special island, and we’re sorry that the Calima affected the mountain views during your trip. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, weather conditions are beyond our control, but we completely understand how disappointing that must have been. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your honest impressions. Feedback like yours helps us review and improve our organization and communication for future tours.
This tour is a good idea, as you can see La Gomera from Tenerife in one day. There is not much free time because the ferry has its schedule. Our guide Yaiza was lovely and the bus driver magnificent along the difficult roads of the island. Just say we had trouble getting there because of traffic jams. Since we came from the North by private car, we arrived at the miracle bus, and because I stopped it once the march started at the pickup hotel. The person who answered us by phone to try to fix our delay, (Omar,) did not speak our language well and did not understand us.
Discovery of the island by bus with ferry crossing. Unfortunately, an outing that did not keep all its promises. Pros are the beautiful landscapes of the Goméra and its Garajonay park as well as a demonstration of the whistled language during lunch. But no visit to typical villages as specified on the documentation, an excursion in several languages with a guide speaking very poor French as well as a lunch neither quantitative nor qualitative. We paid 104€ per person and it was not worth them.
Everything is carefully organized. The guide is very professional and at the service of travelers. Nice day, we will come back for another outing.
Many thanks for a great review.
Hugely emjoyable, well organised tour of the island. The bus trip covers a lot of interesting sites, and includes a couple of walks through a village and forest. Guide was very knowledgable and fun. The overall cost of the tour is good value as the return ferry alone is about €90 per person.
Many thanks for a great review. Coach trips are great value as we get special rates for the ferry. It is an amazing way to see the island and with lunch included. Thank you again.
