La Gomera depuis Tenerife : petit groupe, 18 personnes maximum

Description

It was a beautiful day trip by ferry from Los Cristianos to La Gomera. This island is so surprising with diverse vegetation and ecosystems depending on the altitude. The driver and guide were very competent. We got a nice picture of the origin of the island and the daily life here.
This was a wonderful way to see La Gomera. The group today was only small (4 of us + guide), the transport was very comfortable & our guide Basso was excellent. Basso was very knowledgeable as to how the island & its stunning scenery were formed. The different levels of ecological environments were well explained & how the people of La Gomera are endeavouring to maintain it. Lunch wasn’t provided but a stop at a small restaurant in the National Park was on the itinerary. Prices were not expensive & the food was good. You could try some local dishes if you were adventurous. The itinerary was varied & comfort stops had been planned in. The weather was fantastic - clear blue skies so you could see El Hierro, La Palma & Teide on Tenerife clearly. Basso was a little disappointed with it as with it being so good as we couldn’t really see why the environments had developed as they have. We thoroughly enjoyed our snapshot of La Gomera.
A more private trip away from tourist traps and crowds. A relaxed way to see the life of the villages in La Gomera. Basso was a great guide, explaining everything at a gentle pace.
Thank you very much for your kind review. We’re delighted you enjoyed discovering La Gomera in a relaxed, more private way, away from the crowds and tourist traps. Basso is happy to share the real island, its villages and landscapes, at the right pace. Best regards, GetHoliday
The tour itself was very good. The tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful. The flora, fauna and general scenery were amazing. Our only complaint was with getting to the start of the tour. We were not on the hotel pick-up list and the directions link to the office were we were to meet the group took us to an empty lot several kilometers away from the actual ferry. While we left ourselves plenty of time to get there, by the time we could contact the tour operator and get proper directions we almost missed the ferry - literally 2 minutes to spare.
Dear guest, Thank you very much for your review and for taking the time to share your experience in detail. We are very happy to read that you found the tour itself very good, that you appreciated the guide’s knowledge and helpfulness, and that you enjoyed the amazing scenery, flora and fauna of La Gomera. That is exactly the heart of this experience: to show the island in a complete, authentic and well-organized way, far beyond a simple transfer or a standard sightseeing bus tour. Our La Gomera small-group tour is designed for guests who want to discover the island with more personal attention, local knowledge and carefully selected stops. We focus on the landscapes, the laurel forest, the traditions, the villages, the volcanic origin of the island and the unique identity of La Gomera. The goal is always to offer a rich and memorable experience in one day, with a professional guide and a more personal rhythm. Regarding the meeting point and the start of the tour, we sincerely apologize for the stress you experienced. This is not the kind of beginning we want for our guests, especially when the ferry schedule is involved and timing is so important. Your comment is very useful, and we will review the pick-up list, meeting point information and map links to make the instructions clearer and safer for future guests. We are glad that, despite the initial difficulty, you were able to join the tour and enjoy La Gomera. We always work to offer a true 5-star experience from the first contact to the end of the day, and feedback like yours helps us improve the details that matter. Thank you again for choosing GetHoliday, and we hope to welcome you again in the Canary Islands. Kind regards, Basso GetHoliday
The tour is a good way to see La Gomera in a day and the guide was knowledgeable. We thought the description of the tour being a "VIP" tour was a bit misleading and the maximum number of passengers was exceeded (there were 25 people on our tour). Given the amount of people the tour was slow and because we were the last table to be served at the restaurant we missed out on getting to do one of the walks. Would have been a good tour with less people.
Dear Tamaranc44, Thank you for your feedback and for recognizing that La Gomera is a good way to discover the island in one day and that the guide was knowledgeable. We are sorry that the group size and the timing at lunch did not meet your expectations. Your comment is useful, and we take it seriously, especially regarding the rhythm of the day and the time available at each stop. Our goal with this La Gomera experience is to offer much more than a simple transfer around the island: we want guests to understand the landscapes, culture, traditions, local food and unique identity of La Gomera with the guidance of someone who knows the island well. It is a full-day tour with ferry, mountain roads, viewpoints, forest, villages and local gastronomy, so timing can sometimes be affected by logistics, ferry schedules or restaurant service. That said, we always aim to improve the experience and keep it as personal, well organized and authentic as possible. We appreciate your comments, and we will use them to continue refining the tour for future guests. Kind regards, Basso GetHoliday
Really loved this tour! La Gomera is a such a beautiful island with rich traditions and history. The scenery and views are just breathtaking! Our tour guide Basso made our trip not only fun but also very educational. Our small group of 6 spoke 3 different languages and he still managed to take time and engage every single one of us throughout the day. I especially enjoyed the demonstration of the local “whistle language’ (Silbo Gomero) - by Oscar and Basso - on our lunch stop at a restaurant in the national park! That was super fun! Highly recommend this tour, it’s worth every penny. Thank you Basso and Get Holiday for such an unforgettable experience 😊
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! La Gomera is exactly the kind of island that deserves to be discovered in a small group, with time, care and a local expert guide. I’m very happy you enjoyed the VIP feeling, the views, the traditions and the Silbo Gomero. It was a real pleasure to share the island with you. Thank you for choosing Basso and GetHoliday!
From start to finish, this tour was executed flawlessly. Basso somehow managed a diverse group in three different languages with total ease, never once making anyone feel left out or secondary. That alone is impressive. What really set him apart, though, was how he did it: with effortless humor, genuine warmth, and an almost uncanny attention to detail. He was organized without being rigid, informative without being dry, and funny without trying too hard. You could tell he truly cared about the group’s experience — checking in, adapting on the fly, and making sure everyone felt comfortable, engaged, and included. That kind of emotional intelligence is rare in tour guiding. And this isn’t coming from a casual traveler. I’ve been to more than 70 countries, taken countless tours across continents, and this one easily ranks among the very best I’ve ever done. Basso didn’t just guide us — he elevated the entire experience. If you’re considering this tour and see Basso’s name attached to it, book it without hesitation. You won’t just learn a lot; you’ll have a genuinely memorable time. Bravo, Basso 👏
Loved this trip! We were picked up from our hotel and taken to Los Christianos to catch the Fred Olson over to La Gomera - a fab trip around the island expertly narrated by Bassos. We had a fab fab day! Stunning views of Teide! Definitely worth taking layers of clothing because it gets colder as you get higher up the island! Breathtaking scenery :)
Thanks Basso to guide us during this amazing trip. Despite the mist that day still impressed by the natural beauty and exciting roads. Wish to drive those roads once in our lifetime with our Harley. Grts
Thank you so much for your kind review! Even with the mist, La Gomera shows its wild beauty, dramatic roads and authentic character. It was a pleasure to guide you through the island and share this experience with you in a small group. We hope to welcome you again with Basso and GetHoliday — maybe next time on those roads with your Harley!
We booked this tour via Get Your Guide but the tour was actually delivered by Get Holiday. We were picked up by Basso just around the corner from our hotel in Costa Adeje. Everything ran smoothly from our pickup to our return to our hotel. We were in a small group of just 9 people. Basso was our guide throughout the day. He arranged everything from purchasing the ferry tickets and getting us to our mini bus at La Gomera and back. The mini bus was a comfortable 18 seater version and our driver was excellent. We did not have to do a thing other than relax and listen to Basso providing a running commentary throughout the tour. Basso was very enthusiastic about the island of La Gomera and the Canary Islands generally. His knowledge of both was very impressive and was delivered in a very relaxed manner. The views were fantastic. We were lucky to have a very clear day. It was not until late afternoon that we encountered some cloudy weather. On route we dropped off at some interesting places that gave you an insight to life on the island even to today. This is an excellent private small group tour. We would highly recommend it and Basso helped make the tour very special and memorable.
Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re delighted everything felt smooth, from hotel pickup to ferry and island tour. La Gomera is best enjoyed in a small group, with a local expert guide taking care of every detail. It was a pleasure sharing this special day with you. Thank you for choosing Basso and GetHoliday!
