Itinéraire
La visite commence à 8h30 et le guide vient de 7h30 à 8h30 dans le hall de votre hôtel, puis se dirige vers le nord en direction de la montagne Kulen pendant environ 2 heures de route dans un véhicule climatisé. Profitez de la balade pittoresque en chemin en traversant les villages locaux et la forêt tropicale verdoyante. Vous visiterez le plus grand Bouddha couché du Cambodge sculpté sur du grès. Le temple est situé au sommet de la colline et peut être atteint par une volée de marches. Ensuite, vous partirez pour la rivière sacrée des 1000 lingas. Le lit de la rivière est curieusement sculpté de nombreux lingas, symbole phallique du dieu hindou Shiva. Vous verrez également des gravures rupestres le long de la rivière représentant des divinités hindoues. Vous continuerez à travers un autre site sacré, les cascades de Phnom Kulen. Calmez vos sens en regardant la cascade dévaler les rochers. Vous aurez le temps de patauger dans son bassin et opterez pour vous rafraîchir du soleil de midi en nageant dans sa piscine.

We had an amazing trip to Kulen Mountain and Waterfall with Chenda and Lis. Chenda is a master of his domain when it coes to Khmer history. He was always ready with answers to our curiosity. When we reached the 1000 lingas Chenda drew a map in the dirt showing how the river how it flows into Siem Reap and its temples, along with the time periods of the temples. That presentation in the dirt was a master class it was like a powerpoint presentation with just dirt and sticks and impeccable details all drawn under a shaded tree. Lis was courteous and helpful during the trip together they made a memorable memory for us
We enjoyed seeing the Buddha, but the waterfalls was a lot of extra walking in high heat and that was not clear on the activity details.

Pickup on time. Very nice van for our group. Driver provided cold scented towels and icy cold water to keep us comfortable. Vireak is an excellent communicator in English and very knowledgeable about a wide range of Cambodian history and current affairs. He was also very solicitous of the safety and comfort of our group. It was a wonderful experience watching the cascading water. The final aspect of the cascading fall has to be approached climbing about 150 odd steps-wooden after some amount of walking. However, the effort fully justifies the scenery. Nearer to the vehicle parking area is the 1000 Shiva lingas embedded in the Kabal Spean river bed. The lingas were installed in the river bed to sanctify the water.
The trip was wonderful, our guides San and Mom took great care of us and shared many interesting stories. We saw and experienced a lot. The excursion was very successful. Thank you, Ingrida.
