Description

Very informative and historical. Our guide has a very dry sense of humor and blended magnificently that humor with the some of the more stark portions of the tour. Beautiful walk around Kilkenny without taking up the whole day. Would definitely recommend doing this at least once if you are going to visit this fabulous little city. It really set the backdrop for our stay there.
Very informative and enjoyable two hour tour with John. John clearly knows the history of Kilkenny from medieval to current times. We leant about present day hurling rivalry, the many bridges and memorials, statues and churches as well as Kilkenny characters that make the city a colourful one.
A very nice small group tour. John took us to places that don’t show up in the must see list of typical YouTube influencers, but tell you about the real city. He took us to a few of the big ticket stops, but also to a few of the small stops like a historic high school, the library, and the WW1 memorial. The small group size also meant that we could talk with John about living in Kilkenny and Ireland while walking between stops.
Plan for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Also, feel free to ask questions. The guides are knowledgeable and personable.
