Excellent

A spectacular experience! The cave and hiking tour was perfect: the route was simple and well organized. Jaime and his partner were exceptional guides, always attentive, professional, and with contagious energy. They made us feel safe at all times and shared very interesting information about the place. Without a doubt, they made the experience even more special. I recommend it 100% for anyone who wants to enjoy nature and have a fun adventure without it being too demanding!

Excellent customer service and lots of fun!

We had a lot of fun kayaking through the mangroves under the stars! The guides we knowledgeable and kind (ours even shared her own bug spray). While our family had kayaking experience, others in our group did not, and the guides were patient about teaching them and helping them along the way. We went during a full moon, knowing the bioluminescence would be limited. However, the seaweed had also moved into the area, further preventing the bioluminescence--something no one could prevent. HOWEVER, this company actually texted and called us ahead of time to warn us of the conditions. While it was already in the fine print and the company had no obligation to call us personally, they wanted to be completely up front about the possibility of not seeing any glow because their customers' satisfaction was important to them. That kind of customer service and integrity is very important to me and is difficult to find! We opted to take the trip anyway and DID still see some glow. The guide even caught some of the jelly fish in the lagoon to show us. It was a lot of fun and we would absolutely do it again!

Glad I didn’t pay more

Overall I’m glad we did this as a family however going through the mangroves at the beginning and the end was not fun. It’s so dark you can’t see anything, and if you lose the person in front of you, you are basically paddling without any direction. Once you get to the bay it is pretty cool seeing the bioluminescence. Wear bug spray!!

Wonderful Kayaking and Bioluminescence

The kayaking overall was amazing, me and my family enjoyed it a lot, the staff were super nice and entertaining everyone, even though we couldn’t see the bio luminescence on it’s own, the crew had a plan B which was to put a tarp and look at the glow on the water. Overall very good experience and I would visit again.

An Adventure

First , I can't say enough good things about our guides , they were amazing and they will take great care of you . Be kind and be sure to leave a nice tip for them . Navigating the mangroves seemed like a romantic idea , on paper . It was much less so at night with novice or completely inexperienced paddlers . The bay itself provided some luminescence with the help of a tarp cover because of the moonlight . The trip back to the landing was made even more interesting by the outgoing novice kayakers who were being moved along by flowing water . No one tipped over or fell out but it definitely kept one focused . All in all it was fun ....

A fabulous night in Fajardo.

What an incredible night we had. The trip to Laguna Grande was dark, but by keeping the group size small, we felt very safe, and we were so well taken care of by the amazing staff, especially Joe. He made our excursion absolutely unforgettable, from showing us how to best enjoy the bioluminescence to pointing out constellations in the sky. The main things that I took away from this experience was to 1) make your peace with the fact that you're going to get wet from the waist down, and 2) don't be afraid to ask questions. While the guides are young, they're local, and carry with them a wealth of information. Take advantage of it. I can't wait to do it again.

Great experience

It was a fun experience. The guides were really good, very patient with some friends who had no experience on a kayak.

Bioluminescent Bay Night Kayak Tour was a bust!

I wish I could give it good review, but I couldn't because we had really no Luminescent. The guides were good, but not much of a tour, and did the best they could but Nature is nature. The kayaking was good, but I wished we did the daytime tour instead. It was just too dark, we couldn't see the mangrove tree that we were about to hit the kayak into. We put these dark tarps over us to see the luminescent, but our kayaks were pushed so close together, that I could hardly put my hand in the water to splash. There was some luminescent in the water but not much. One of the guides told me that it is better when the weather is drier, and since we were there in July, the rainy season, that could be the reason. We did have alot of rain that day. Overall, I'm not sure if all tour companies run the same way, but I would not do this tour again at night, especially in the rainy season???

Réponse de l'opérateur

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you found our guides professional and that you enjoyed the kayaking experience itself. Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon, and its visibility can vary depending on several factors, including rainfall, moonlight, and seasonal conditions. July is part of Puerto Rico’s rainy season, and while we operate rain or shine, heavier rain can affect the brightness of the glow in the water. Our night tours are designed to experience both the mangrove channel and the bioluminescent bay safely. The tarps and close kayak formations are used to enhance visibility of the bioluminescence while keeping everyone together in the dark channel, which is a standard safety practice across all operators. While conditions are not always predictable, we strive to provide a memorable experience and ensure guest safety. For those who prefer more visibility of the surrounding scenery, our daytime tours may be a better fit, though they do not include the bioluminescence. We appreciate your understanding that nature plays the biggest role in this unique experience, and we hope to welcome you back during a drier season for a brighter display.
