I visited the Phoenix area for a few days and decided to go out on the water on a whim. Great scenery, and lots of wild horses. Staff were very friendly and helpful with instructions. For the price, it was a unique and great experience! I went solo, but most of us stuck together at each junction. I would recommend going earlier in the day to avoid the tubers, and to wear sunscreen, a hat, and a sun shirt. I would definitely come back to try another route or tour :)

My first time kayaking and I really enjoyed this 2 hour self guided venture. Forgot how beautiful the Salt River is. Not difficult at all. Stay centered, stay straight, stay in the middle of the river and practice your paddling in the slower parts/lagoons of the river. Keep the oars close to the boat when paddling for better control and propulsion. Had a great time and highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at the saguaro lake guest ranch. The staff was so nice and helpful, the property is incredible and so beautifully preserved. This ranch is like stepping back in time, and we really enjoyed all of it. The food was wonderful, we found books to read on the many book shelves, we played board games, we enjoyed the pool, we kayaked on the salt river (2 hr tour), we rode horses, and my husband, daughter, and I enjoyed the trails just up the hill for early morning trail running. Saguaro lake is above the dam and a short drive; we checked out the beach there also. Great place to stay! We will be back.

It was beautiful, the instructions given prior to launch were spot on and I was able to know when and where to avoid the Rapids. Beautiful scenery, got to see the wild horses and even some river otters.

Kayaking on Saguaro Lake is both beautiful and refreshing. Although it was February, it was 90 degrees outside and what a great way to stay cool and beat the heat! The staff had the kayaks ready to go and we literally got onto the kayaks and got pushed off without having to get our feet wet. When we returned, the staff literally pulled the kayaks up onto the sand so we could disembark! There was time for a quick swim for those who wanted and many people were swimming to cool off due to the hot weather. ENJOY!!😊

What an experience! The beach was a popular spot, so we were so glad to be with a group. Everyone who worked with us from the receptionist to the drivers were in great spirits and incredibly helpful. The lake is gorgeous, as you look up at cacti and rocks rising all around as you kayak independently on such a clean, clear lake. It was so relaxing and invigorating at the same time! There were motorboats and jet skiers, but there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the water! It was the perfect amount of time. I'd do it again!
