First and foremost this is a catamaran and it’s going to be on the ocean. Our captain was very thorough in describing what to expect on the entire cruise and she was absolutely correct about everything. Myself and my family all knew what to expect prior to our trip but some of the other guests weren’t … and unfortunately ended up being uncomfortable and got sea sickness. Otherwise we all had a great time ! The views were amazing, the catamaran was rocking and rolling to the motion of the sea and the captain and crew were all very attentive. Our captain was also a tour guide explaining everything we were about to see. The rest of the crew were busy making sure that each and every person on board was well taken care. They also passed out snacks and beverages and sweets. Alcoholic beverages were also available. Dinner was provided buffet style. Due to the size of the catamaran and the small galley the options were limited but were tasty. I was able to take so many photographs some of which I’m still going through. I asked my family members if they would go on it again and they all said yes ! I agree wholeheartedly. I would remind everyone that this is not a large cruise ship but is a double decker catamaran with a crew of 4 including the captain. If you’re expecting a smooth ride…you will not find it here. If you’re looking for an adventure on the ocean while having the wind in your face and the ocean dictating how the ship moves…this is the one for you. There’s nothing quite like being on the ocean looking at the amazing views of the coastline. Yes…sign up and go have a fun time and hang on !
All these kind words and description, can't quite figure out where the 5th star went - no, this is not a big cruise ship, this is true. But Lady KaiLani is a luxury vessel providing 3 decks of comfort, shade, great customer service and excellent views. Mahalo for joining us
If you don't know that you will be seasick just take precautions and buy the anti-nausea medication and take beforehand. 🤮This is a very nice trip and the food is quite good🍹😋 so you don't want to ruin it for yourself. The boat is very nice and new, has all the amenities in the right places.I liked the crew, very nice and will go out of their way for you.
We're glad to hear you had a great time and enjoyed all the details! Taking a preventative is always a good idea
Highly recommend - we sailed on the Lady Kailani on the Sunset Na Pali Coast tour. The crew was amazing!!! The boat looked almost brand new and was very comfortable. The food was good! The views were fantastic. Our captain as very experienced and it was an enjoyable 4 hours. If you are prone to motion sickness take medication prior, we did and had no problems at all. Our one family member that says he never gets sea sick wound up getting sick on the trip back. But for the rest of us an amazing experience. Hang out in the front of the boat it was very enjoyable but very windy.
The Lady KaiLani is the newest member of our fleet family! Taking a preventative is very much so, a great idea. Even when you think you'll 'never get sick'! Great to hear you enjoyed everything so much! Mahalo for the detail and kind words.
The Lady Kailani is a beautiful boat. Large enough to not feel too much motion, incredibly clean, lots of great places to sit and enjoy the journey. The captain and crew were exceptional. So friendly and attentive. They were well versed in safety. The food was much better than one would expect on an evening cruise. This was the highlight of our Kauai vacation. Mahalo!
We are so excited to hear that the excursion was the highlight of your Kaua'i Vacation - Mahalo for sharing with us and for joining KST!
Great experience with incredible views! The captain got us up close to the caves and the crew was very attentive. We got lucky and the waves were relatively calm. My wife who usually gets sea sick was good with a couple dramamine pills. Highly recommend the sunset trip!
So glad to hear it all went well! Your wife was smart to be cautious! The conditions can be unpredictable. Mahalo for joining us.
Boat was modern and well maintained. Captain Alicia was great. Pointed out historical and geological info and kept the guests informed of the rules and what was going to happen on the boat. Weather was great, a perfect day. Seas were a bit rough in areas but expected for the area we were at. If you're susceptible to getting sea sick do take precautions! Crew was friendly and professional (Emmy and two others - sorry forgot their names). They really seemed to enjoy their job - and who could blame them. Food was good and there was plenty of booze after the snorkeling.
Sounds fantastic! Yes, precautions are a great idea. We appreciate your kind review. Mahalo for joining us
Everything was FANTASTIC, the Capt’n , the crew, the boat, the food was Great! An ABSOLUTE MUST DO! Yeees DO IT if you want GREAT MEMORIES!
Thank you Paula!
Wow - this experience was just great! Capt. Kauai and his 3 person crew were amazing! Water was a little choppy going out and several (5 out of 23) passengers got sick. The crew members took such good care of them while still managing to take good care of the rest of us. Each member would offer to take photos of passengers, fetch drinks, make plates, etc. Capt. Kauai shared a lot of the history of Kauai while navigating. Crew members showed us photos and videos of Capt. Kauai and it was clear they admired and respected him. At one point, Cat. Kauai brought the Lady Kailani right up against the rocky shoreline for the guests to take photos. It was incredible! Good to know - shoes are removed prior to boarding. You can take backpacks or tote bags on board. Appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages were served early in the 5 hour trip. Alcohol and dinner were served on the way back from Na Pali so no one seemed unsafe. The boat has an upper and lower deck. Upper deck is mostly covered but the rain can reach the edges of the entire upper deck. Lower deck in the back was where they recommended people who get seasick sit as it has the least amount of turbulence. The sunset was viewed and celebrated pretty close to harbor return so we were effectively not completely dark upon arrival. The boat is nearly brand new (9 months old) and very nice. There are 2 restrooms onboard. It is rated for 100 passengers but they don’t schedule more than 50 and there were 23 on our sailing.
We appreciate your detailed account of your experience Mary. We're glad to hear you enjoyed Captain Kauai, the crew members and our beautiful new vessel! Mahalo for choosing KST and for the recommendation.
Absolutely best tour I have ever done! Lady Kailani was beautiful and the captain and crew made the trip so memorable. Captain Alicia was incredible she was so impressive and knowledgeable. Thank you Kaua’i sea tours
Awesome! Mahalo
We had such a wonderful time touring the Na pali coast aboard the Lady Kailani! It is truly surreal to see the cliffs up close while listening to culture insights from the crew! We saw a couple of whales even tho most of them have migrated in April, goats playing along the cliffs was amazing!! And even the forming of a rainbow! It was so magical and beautiful!! The crew is so attentive and always checking on you make sure you are feeling comfortable and offering you drinks and food! I personally get sea sick so I took to Dramamines an hour before and didn’t feel a thing! I was able to enjoy the trip all along, so I def recommend to take sea sick med to avoid feeling sick specially if you do the tour during winter time since taught sea are expected at times, but the capital and crew are so knowledgeable of the area and let you know exactly what to expect in each part of the tour:) we did our tour yesterday April 24 and obit the mid part of the trout as you get into the cliff felt rough as the crew advice and the way back was a bliss!! We took so many picture and just chill enjoying the spectacular views, the crew even takes pictures for you!! The sunset was dreamy!! I recommend this 10/10!!
Thank you for your detailed review and the 10/10 recommendation. We completely agree regarding the importance of taking preventative measures for motion sickness, even for those who typically feel fine. Conditions can change unexpectedly, and the experience is much more enjoyable when you feel your best. You are also correct that weather and ocean conditions during the winter and spring can be quite unpredictable. It sounds like you had some truly magical moments with the marine life and the stunning NāPali Coast, as well as our fantastic captains and crew. Thank you for choosing Kauai Sea Tours!
