It was a great tour! Our captain was Dawn and crew Josh, Lauren and Chad. The Napali coast is absolutely amazing! Be prepared for a rocky ride! We were prepared and had the best time but many on our tour were seasick. The crew did an amazing job taking care of sick passengers, changing buckets nearly constantly so give them a break if you’re not used to small boats rocking and pre medicate with something for sea sickness. The taco bar was great and the little desserts were awesome too! Snorkeling was ok, a little choppy but we saw turtles and a few schools of fish. Our captain even stopped on the way back for everyone to enjoy some spinner dolphins. I would definitely do this again!
Thank you Margo - great to hear you had a wonderful time with Captain Dawn and her crew! We generally always suggest taking preventatives, especially these days with weather and ocean conditions becoming more unpredictable. Mahalo for sharing and we hope you will join us again!
I had a terrible experience because when we started snorkeling the water was very rough and needed to get back within 20 min. Once back on the boat, the water was so rough that for 4 hours I was vomiting and felt horrible . There were many passengers who were sick and in the same situation. Just wish I knew it was going to be rough so I could’ve cxld the tour. Had the sea-band as well.
We are very sorry to hear that you were not feeling well during your trip. Unfortunately, the weather and ocean conditions can be unpredictable, and this happens more frequently around the island of Kaua'i. Generally we recommend taking a preventative. Apologies again
Our experience was mixed. The trip was extremely bumpy, as in riding a bucking bronco. It seemed that the boat was driven straight into the waves to accentuate this experience. It resulted in sore backs and reduced opportunities for photos along the way. The food was subpar, and the drinks were disappointing. On the other hand, we snorkeled once, which was great and we went partway into a lava cave, and into a cliff hole that allowed us spectacular views out to the ocean and up the cliffs surrounding us. The sunset was great. So if you have to go through hell to see a little bit of heaven, that was worth it. However, next time we’ll use a different company with a different boat, like a catamaran, which we observed along the way were not experiencing any of the bumpiness that we were.
Thank you for your feedback. We are a bit uncertain which vessel you were on, as your heading mentioned the Lucky Lady; however, the captains of that catamaran do not drive directly into waves or enter caves. Additionally, we work with excellent caterers for our tours. While we are glad you were able to experience some beautiful sights, but again, we wonder if you were actually on one of our boats. Take care and Aloha,
Bring ginger chews and plenty of battery power for your phone or camera. Views are amazing of the Na Pali coastline Snorkelling was a bonus.
Great advise - Mahalo for joining us
The Lucky lady vessel and crew go out of their way to deliver a once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommend!
Mahalo Richard - we appreciate you
Aloha!! We had a wonderful trip onboard Lucky Lady in the afternoon. Our lady Captain and the Crew were great, the views were unforgettable, the time spent on board was amazing. Adding ‘visit’ of dolphins on the way back just before the sunset on the water made the whole trip an event we will remember forever. Mahalo and hope to see U again
Mahalo for the kind review - great to hear you had a wonderful time!
It was fun, but the last time I went on, it was better. This is my second time on the same tour, two years later.
We're glad to hear you had fun. For your third visit, try Lady KaiLani, our newest vessel. She's a beauty!
Crew is amazing ! We were on Caption Josh’s boat “Imiloa”. The Caption skillfully maneuvered the boat inside a cave @ under a water fall as well! Caption & crew went over and beyond to make our experience memorable!! Snorkeling was super fun and we saw loads of dolphins along the way !!
Sounds amazing! Thank you for sharing with us
Pros: a great way to see NaPali Coast. Great photo ops. Nice and friendly boat crew. Cons: windy (take chewables for sea sickness), and snorkeling was just ok, compared to other snorkeling spots on the island.
We appreciate your pro / con list. The biggest benefit of snorkeling off a boat in Kauai is often the glorious way it feels! A lot of great snorkeling can be done right off many of the local beaches. Thank you for joining us.
Amazing crew, so helpful and kind! Seas are rough, be prepared!
Mahalo -yes take a preventative!
