Kandy à l'aéroport de Colombo (Airport Drop) ou Negombo

I have traveled with Mahaweli Tours several times now, and their service has been excellent. The chauffeur was punctual in picking me up, and the ride was very safe.

We took the train to Kandy and then needed car transportation back to the Colombo airport. Our driver navigated very challenging roads and traffic and did an incredible job in getting us to the airport on schedule. The price was competitive and fair. Highly recommended!

The druver spoke minimal English He didn't have a GPS or a mobile phone so stopped 5 times to ask directions. I had to use my mobile data to tell him how to get there & where to turn. He drove on the middle white line all the way on the freeway & kept jerking & weaving driving with one hand. We have had 7 drivers on our trip & none were as bad as him. We finally got to the airport but we were tense the whole 4 hour drive

The expectation we had was that every vehicle was well maintained, had air conditioning, and the driver spoke good English. However, this wasn't the case at all. The vehicle we were collected in did not have air conditioning, or if it did, it wasn't working and on a day where the feels like temperature was 38C, and humidity was over 90%. It was quite uncomfortable for a three hour journey back to CMB from Kandy. The driver kept drifting off and we had to keep telling him to wake up where he was drifting across the lanes on the new motorway, as well as waking some of us up when he narrowly avoided rear ending a bus. After the motorway, he had to pull over and asked me to get out so he could access the engine to pour water over and into it to cool it down. I then had to field the broken English pleas to not write this review for the remaining hour of the journey under the guilt tripping message that the driver wouldn't be paid if I made a complaint. I did not complain to the company, but I cannot allow other travellers to suffer either not getting to their destination due to vehicular failure, or worse; having a nasty accident.

I had a very smooth trip from Kandy to Colombo followed by sightseeing in Colombo city. Pradeep is easy going, knowledgeable and drives well. As a bonus I got a lot of good photos. Thank you!
