Tokyo Memories was recommended to me by a friend and I’m really glad I listened to them. The tour was really one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Simon was personable and professional, he was considerate of my parents and a lot of fun to hang out with. The balance between culture, history and boozy banter was spot on. There are so many temples and so many cafes and restaurants in Kamakura that it could have been a bit overwhelming on our own but with Simon it was easy and fun. Highly recommended.
Thank you so much. Was lovely to meet you all and am really glad your mum and dad had a good time too!
Our local tour guide Chuck was very knowledgeable, good fun and seemed to understand the best times to move on without any rush. We had plenty of time to see the temples and shrines at a suitable pace, as well as sampling the many street foods in the area before we headed into the the amazing night life. Good restaurants with interesting drinks. We had a most fantastic time.
Thanks so much! Really happy you enjoyed the day!
Simon is an awesome guide. Took care of everything the entire day and was so helpful with our little one. 15/10 would always reccomend.
We loved Tokyo, and one of the reasons is Simon, our tour guide. He took us to places where Japanese people go, so we avoided the touristy places and felt like locals. I would have never tried street food if Simon was not there to point out the best places! With him, we discovered neighborhoods that we would never have known, with combining site seeing, and discovering hidden gems like a little brewery at the end of an alley, a bakery with the nicest Japanese sweets in a backyard (of course he told us what to get-and it was delicious 🤤) and a place to drink matcha the Japanese way in the middle of a beautiful garden (but the most famous one that everyone goes 😉) We also discussed a lot about the Japanese history, language and culture with him and understood a few things about this wonderful place that is so different from what we know!
Thank you so much! It was really lovely to take you and your family around Tokyo. I am so glad you had a good time.
I spent my honeymoon in Japan. I had seen this online tour and decided to buy it. simon guided us to discover Kamakura, its wonderful landscapes and temples and the typical food. simon is a kind, polite and helpful person. absolutely recommended.
From contact prior to the day until our tour’s day end Simon was everything we could have hoped for in a guide. Simon was friendly, engaging and knowledgeable, he listened to us and discovered our liking for the history, the ancient trees and our sentimental reason for visiting the Great Buddha of Kamakura (common name). A perfect day exploring and learning interspersed with tea and sweets, lunch in a local restaurant and later a coffee. I highly recommend Simon as a tour guide and Historic Kamakura tour in particular.
