We had an incredible day exploring Kakadu with Autopia Tours. Starting the morning with the Jumping Crocodile Cruise was the perfect way to kick things off—seeing those massive saltwater crocs launch out of the water was unforgettable! From there, we explored the stunning natural landscapes of Kakadu, visited ancient Aboriginal rock art sites, and learned so much about the history, culture and wildlife of the region. A huge thank you to our guide, Dylan. His knowledge, storytelling and passion for the NT made the whole experience so engaging. He shared so many interesting facts throughout the day, and somehow made the long drive fly by. If you’re visiting Darwin, this tour is an absolute must. A fantastic way to experience the beauty, wildlife and rich Indigenous culture of Kakadu in a single day. Highly recommend!
This trip was excellent. Rob and Tim were excellent, knowledgeable, funny and helpful. It was a long day but it was worth it! Lots of birds at Fogg Dam and crocs at Cahills Crossing. The best bit was the walk to see the rock art at Ubirr and the view from the top of the rocks, unforgettable! We even managed to have a swift beer and pizza stop on the way back. Plenty of comfort breaks and interesting commentary along the way kept the long drive bearable. I recommend this highly.
Aussie Tim was our guide for the day. We started with short drive to the Crocodile cruise. Very entertaining and informative. Definitely recommend this cruise. Then off to Kakadu. How absolutely stunning. Tim's knowledge, from Aboriginal art to sacred site vs communal site , some bush tucker and world famous Mick Dundee, helped us all better understand the area. Tim thank you for a great day. Would recommend Autopia Tours to anyone.
Our tour was a very memorable experience. The bird life at Fog Damn was abundant and the lotus flowers beautiful. The trip to Kakadu is long but worthwhile once you arrive to see the unique landscape at the Arnhem Land border, with crocs swimming in Adelaide River at Cahills Crossing, large rock formations, unique flora and ancient aboriginal art. Alex did a great job informing us about history, culture and the significance of the indigenous art not to mention his good long distance driving. Very immersive!
Visit to Kakadu, Ubirr Rock, was truly beautiful. I felt rather emotional once on top of the rock. It was something special looking out towards the plains and acknowledging the cultural significance and mother nature at her best. Alex, our guide, has a wealth of knowledge about the rock art. Thank you for this! His driving couldn’t be faulted.

I enjoyed the Kakadu tour immensely, largely because of the guide Sanna. She was far more knowledgeable than I expected a guide for this tour to be, reeling off stories and facts that made the drive seem much shorter. She knew tons about aboriginal culture, bird and wildlife identification and ecology, plants, and more. As an outdoor guide myself, I was thoroughly impressed!
Thank you for sharing such a detailed and wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the Kakadu tour and that Sanna made a lasting impression with her extensive knowledge and storytelling. It's fantastic to know that her expertise and passion enhanced your experience, especially as an outdoor guide yourself. We truly appreciate your high praise and hope to host you on another memorable adventure soon!
