I knew it was a shore fishing trip, but it’s fishing a dock that gets fished pretty hard. It was fun still but a little expensive for what the trip was.
No show.. no call.. no answer when we called.. no anything!! This is beyond unacceptable!! Beware! Do not book!!
What a rip off. They dress you in fishing clothes like they are taking you somewhere where you will need such garb and then take you behind their office and have you fish from a dock for a few hours that they constructed. A complete waste of money!
We fished in late July. We booked the charter online after reading the reviews. It was a great time. Our group had three people. One adult, one teenager and one younger fisher. The tour of the hatchery was very interesting. Lots of good information. The fishing was great. We caught 12 fish total. We first fished off a dock. It was a beautiful location. The fishing was a bit slower here but still a great time. The second location was from the shore. Beautiful location with more action. Our guide was great. Friendly, informative and super patient with the younger fisher. As with younger fishermen there were a few line tangles and snags. We were sailing on a cruise ship. The pick up and drop off locations were very easy. It was right at the dock near the cruise ship. One of the best things about this charter is that it got us away from the crowds, away from town and let us experience the beauty of Alaska.
Everyone caught multiple salmon.
Excellent experience. Bryce was our guide and was really great. We were all able to catch some fish, and we learned a lot about the area! I recommend this adventure!!
Learned about salmon and the hatching process, plenty of fish to catch and experience loaded of fun. Our tour guide Logan and his coworker were fun, helpful, accommodating, cordial and all good atribute of a great tour guide.
We didn't catch any fish, and we realize we can't catch what is not there. But maybe we could have used different bait. The tour of hatchery was nice, but could have been shorter.
Our guide was very informative. We learned before the tour that salmon actually run in August and, therefore, unlikely to actually catch a fish. Should have researched better. The kids really liked it though.
We had high expectations for catching salmon and we didn't catch any. We don't blame anyone for that as that isn't something they can control. We did learn after the fact that during this time of year, early June, there aren't many salmon there yet. We did see two bald eagles and a seal that hung out by us while we fished which was cool. I think my biggest frustration is that we didn't get nearly the experience we expected for the amount of money we paid. Maybe have a backup fishing location to try or even a different type of fishing so at least we could catch a fish? We literally kept the same set up for almost 3 hours and kept casting and only caught seeweed. I don't want this to all be negative as we did enjoy our interactions with Michelle and Matt. It sounds like if you want to catch salmon you need to visit in July or August.
