The forest itself is lovely; we were just stuck with not a great guide. We arrived at 8 am hoping to skip the crowds, but when we got there, we were unfortunately lumped into a massive group of loud tourists and a tour guide who didn't care to answer any questions. We wished we could have walked around ourselves, had more time in the forest, or just had one tour guide for the two of us. The crowd was so loud that we actually scared away most of the animals that we literally went there to see!! Still so beautiful, however, but short and rushed. Felt like the guide did not like his job at all and to me a good guide makes all the difference. The admission fee was 15 per adult.

I visited the forest today as part of a package tour. We had Sarah as our guide and she was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The forest tour consists of 3 parts, the forest itself, the monkey area and the mangroves. What I did not appreciate was that biditors are only allocated an hour so you only get 20 mins at each location. I also did not realise that you have to be driven between the 3 locations, and trying to find your van amongst 30 odd other identical vans can be very difficult. The forest itself was OK but a bit boring not much better than any forest in yhe UK. The monkey area was better and more interesting but don't be fooled by photos of monkeys sitting on people's shoulders etc. Visitors have to stay 3 meters from the animals, and walk away to maintain the distance if they come near you. No feeding or touching the monkeys is allowed at all. The mangrove area is exactly that, a field of mangroves which guests can observe from a boardwalk. All in all I was not that impressed and thought the day was expensive for what it was.

We all enjoyed the tour, everything was well organized,very friendly tour guide,we saw many monkeys and my kids were very happy..we had amazing experience will book again next time Thanks a lot pazuri.

We made this excursion mainly to see the famous monkeys and so it was. We arrived after a fairly tiring journey, but it was worth it. The monkeys are beautiful and very particular , some even seem to pose. Our guide explained many things including the history of the national park and its peculiarities. Definitely worth seeing for a wild experience

We had a great tour of Jozani Forest, booked through Viator and operated by Pazuri Zanzibar. I highly recommend this tour. The tour in the forest includes walks through fern, mahogany, and mangrove ecosystems. The guides communicate about where the monkeys are so you will find them easily. We saw red Colobus with several frisky babies, and some blue monkeys. No matter who you book with, you will have a Jozani-trained guide once you get to the park. No one can tour the forest without an official park guide. The tour operator will arrange your visit and provide transportation. Our tour-guide driver, Geoffrey, was friendly and safely navigated the often chaotic traffic around town and rutted roads in the park area. He gave us useful information and answered our questions. Overall, a great afternoon!

Nice forest where you can discover black monkeys, warthogs and especially red monkeys who are not afraid to come next to you

We booked the trip privately on site with our good friend Captain Piilo from Nungwi. Contact is always quick and uncomplicated and everything runs smoothly +255 622 227 709 (Whatsapp) The trip is quite long, but with Piilo it doesn't get boring. To our surprise, he assigned us a German-speaking guide - Said. We found that very thoughtful, as we hadn't asked for it. Great! First we went for a nice walk in the forest. You could see some monkeys romping around in the trees. The forest is beautiful. We had taken the mosquito spray with us for free, there were no insects at least that day. After that we went to the mangroves. Absolutely worth seeing. After that we looked for and found the monkeys in another part of the forest. We took great photos there and with Said it was always very informative.

We came there by taxi. A very beautiful place where you can get up close and personal with the endemic monkeys, the Zanzibar red colobus. A nice half day of walking and seeing other things but not walking very well, we didn't see everything. It’s a great meeting. Don't bring anything to eat, they have a special diet that they find in nature so let's forget the eternal banana. it's no !

A beautiful tour with the best guide! Extremely well organized and exceeded all my expectations. Will definitely return and would recommended to anyone looking for an amazing 10/10 experience!!
