Cascais, ancienne station balnéaire prisée de l'élite portugaise, est née d'un village de pêcheurs et le resta jusqu'à la fin du XIXe siècle. À partir des années 1930, un événement inattendu se produisit : les familles royales et les exilés du monde entier transformèrent radicalement Cascais, la métamorphosant en Riviera portugaise. C'est le moment et le lieu où les personnes fuyant les persécutions peuvent être en sécurité, et ce territoire neutre sera le théâtre des plus grands jeux d'espionnage de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Ici, les années sombres et les villes détruites en Europe avaient une tout autre signification, car la majeure partie du continent n'offrait ni sécurité ni hospitalité. Aujourd'hui, c'est une magnifique portion de littoral atlantique de 30 km, qui attire des voyageurs et des investisseurs du monde entier, pour des rencontres professionnelles et de loisirs à travers tout le Portugal ! Tout en faisant cela, suivez les traces du film de 1969 « 007 au service secret de Sa Majesté » puisque vous visiterez également le lieu de naissance de James Bond, la véritable région qui a inspiré Ian Fleming.

Wonderful Lisbon a pleasure to spend time seeing the sights and of course sampling the famous Portuguese Custard Tarts over coffee. Then on to Estoril the casino and hotel where Ian Flemings James Bond was invented. Finally to Cascais with its lovely beaches marina quaint Old Town with good selection of restaurants. It’s so important to have a good driver and guide like Nuno of Sophia Tours who takes time to explain the history and culture of these lovely places. The history architecture and beauty of Lisbon just took my breath away and it’s so essential to have a good guide with you which I did adding even further interest and knowledge of this great City. So enjoyed our stop at the Portuguese Custard Tart shop in Lisbon to sample these sweet delights with coffee. Next stop The Casino and Spies Hotel in Estoril not to be missed and the story attached to these landmarks of how James Bond was invented well narrated by the guide. Cascais our last stop is full of character breathtaking views.The journey along the coastline was a pleasure with Nuno my driver and guide a very sociable person extremely knowledgeable who is a careful driver in a modern vehicle.
