Excellent day in Amalfi and onto Pompeii!! Eduardo, our awesome driver, picked us up at the port in Salerno with a sign so we easily find him. He texted he was there waiting for us. He confirmed the day before as well. Eduardo sent his personal cell number in case of any issues during our free time. He made excellent recommendations. It is not easy to book tours in another country, but I assure you Mondo and Eduardo in particular were communicative and reliable!!! He was a pleasant, safe driver, had a good sense of humor and open to minor changes in our itinerary as long as time made it possible. The van was nicely air condition and immaculate. Spending the day with Eduardo who is knowledgeable on the areas we visited and agreeable to his guests’ preferences, provided such a beautiful day along the Amalfi Coast. I highly recommend Mondo Tours. Ask for Eduardo. You will not be disappointed.
Logistics were very easy. Finding them and getting back on time were no troulde at all. While the port is far from them city center, there's lots of shopping there in an enclosed and air conditioned space. We had never been to this part of the world before, so everything was new to us. To start with, it's a rather lengthy drive from the port to Positano. Andrea did a tremendous job explaining the local lifestyle, so it filled up the time well. Views were tremendous. Positano was hopping. There's lot of shopping there. It's rather hilly. If you have mobility challenges, do as much or as little as you can. After we got back in the bus, we drove to Sorrento. By this time we were tired and hungry, so we sat in a restaurant. It was a hot day and we wanted the food and A/C. Sorrento looked really rich and intesting, but we didn't have a lot of time there. Would love to have seen more. All this pales in comparison to Pompeii however, which is simply spellbinding. Andrea explained that he sometimes does all day tours of Pompeii and still can't cover even half. He knows it like his own living room, so he cut a path to share as much of it as possible, given the time alloted. Throughout the tour he was very helpful it suggusting when to use bathrooms or buy water as their own no bathrooms or drinks available inside Pompeii. Andrea really made the experience for us. He was extremely knowledgable, engaging, and fun. I'm so glad we did this tour.
Our trip to Sorrento, Positano, the Amalfi Coast, and Pompeii was the highlight of our time in Naples! Our driver and guide, Domenico and Valerio, were exceptional. They were accommodating and took us to all the best places. The towns are beautiful and a must-see if you're visiting Naples. I highly recommend this tour!
Vincenzo did a great job as our guide. He was friendly and knowledgeable and kept the tour on schedule. Dominico was an excellent driver. The tour van was in good condition and the air conditioning worked well - a major plus on a very hot day! The itinerary was full but well paced.
Enzo from Mondo Guide made our day in Pompeii and the hike up to the Vesuvius crater one of the absolute highlights of our entire Italy trip. If you're comparing Pompeii and Vesuvius tour guides and wondering who to book, stop looking — book Enzo. We had a full day with him: a private, in-depth walking tour through the ruins of Pompeii followed by the hike up to the crater of Mount Vesuvius. From the first few minutes it was clear Enzo is a true professional. His knowledge of Pompeii's history, the daily life of its residents, and the archaeology of the excavation site was incredible — he brought the ruins to life in a way that made 2,000-year-old history feel immediate and real. He tailored the pace and route to what our group actually wanted to see, and made sure we didn't miss a single thing on our list. What really set him apart was how well he knows the ropes. He clearly knows the other guides and staff at the site, knew exactly which lines and entrances to use, and got us through efficiently without any of the standing-around-in-crowds frustration you hear about with Pompeii tours. On top of that, he was genuinely funny and fun to be with all day — warm, personable, and easy to be around, which made the hours fly by. The hike up to the Vesuvius crater was spectacular. The views from the top over the Bay of Naples are absolutely incredible, and Enzo and his driver made sure the whole logistics side — transport, timing, safety — was completely seamless. He was constantly and visibly counting our group to make sure nobody got separated in the crowds, which we really appreciated as a group of friends traveling together. Our whole group loved him. If you're planning a trip to Pompeii and want to add the Vesuvius crater hike, do yourself a favor and request Enzo through Mondo Guide. Fabulous guide, fabulous day — highly, highly recommend.
This was an amazing & efficient day to see the sites for a Naples cruise stop. Loved all the views and shopping at Sorrento! Pompeii was a highlight & well worth it. Cino was a perfect guide - entertaining and knowledgable. Beware if you tend towards car sickness…wish we would have known this ahead of time. The drive on the coast is crazy. 🤢
Everything was wonderful, from the moment of reaching out to get more information, to asking last minute if friends we made in the shop could join us we had great communication. Positano was nice to see, but I liked Sorrento more... bit more to see and do and less crowded but the views on the drive were amazing. Pompeii was well worth the stop and I don't know how we would ever have enjoyed it if we did it alone. Vincenzo brought everything to life, giving us details into the lives of the people of Pompeii. Vincenzo was fabulous throughout the day, giving us tips and his number to reach out if we needed anything. He was funny, considerate and a blast to be with. You truly felt like family. Can't recommend it enough. Thanks Mondo and Vincenzo!
Very comprehensive tour. Positano and Sorrento were drop offs and then on your own. Pompei was guided tour. Mary was excellent.
One of the best tours out there. The tour guide Andrea was very knowledgeable about the history of his country and very friendly. Highly recommended for all.
Our guide Vincenzo, met us right outside the ship terminal and the transport was wonderful, transport a very clean and comfortable upscale oversized van. During our travel to the various stops Vincenzo offered. I'm musing, an enlightening information about all of the sites along the way he guided us into each city and gave us helpful tips as to where to shop and dine. And then he was our guide for 2 hours at Pompeii, with detailed information about this gem of a ancient city. We got to know our fellow travelers. Most of whom were from our same ship with princess. This particular day, the weather was wonderful, with only a slight threatening of rain. The entire excursion lasted about 6 hours. And we were back onboard. Well, within time for our departure. I suppose my only negative might be that during the Pompeii tour, some of the kids had those little fans running and that noise was being picked up by Vincenzo's microphone and was a bit annoying. A very minor concern. My wife and I strongly recommend this tour.
