This was a total rip off, there was no tour. About an hour after the 10 am start time a rep walked me to the public boat taxi stand , bought me a regular return ticket for 25,000 pesos, (about £5) gave me a lunch ticket and sent me on my way alone. No guiding, nothing. The lunch cost 40,000 peso, so I total the trip cost 65,000 pesos but I was charged £35 for absolutely nothing. In fact it would have been easiest to do it myself as I had to wait around for an HR in the heat for the guy to walk me 5 mins to the boat pier. Don't buy this trip! Just go to the dock and get your own ticket
You can better take a taxi boat from one of the bigger companies like Taximarinda and you'll get the same which is practically not more than a ride to one of the better beaches. At the marina they 'guide' bought tickets for the boat for us (meaning they overcharged us!!) and this 'guide' we booked, supposedly speaking English. Did not speak any other language but Spanish. The lunch that was included took ages, and was not good. The meat was like rubber and we had to wait ages for pasta with shrimps. We'd need to be back at th r marina at 4, but it started to rain so all boats started leaving. No one gave us a return ticket which apparently was necessary to get back to Rodadero. Thanks to a lady who spoke a bit of English, we could explain the situation to the captain of the boat, who finally let us on the boat. Otherwise we would still be on plata Blanca I guess. So no! Don't do this! If you want to take a tour, book with a different company. And if you want just a tour to one of the better beaches: take a normal taxi boat.
Had a nice time but the agency was unorganized. We where told to be there a little before 9am so we could leave by 9. We got there at 8:45 am but we didn't leave to almost 11 am. At the beach at the end everything was crazy. No signs to tell us which boat we needed to get on. Also to get the food took forever. Overall we did have a great time
Have booked three excursions on Viator for Santa Marta, Colombia. Have taken two of the three tours. First two tours were disorganized on meeting location - not clear at all. Hoping the third is better. Playa Blanca was beautiful. The lunch was delicious. Boat ride to the beach provided magnificent views of the Sierra Madre.
I paid for an English Guide and received a Spanish one. I texted the company stating I needed an English Guide and they said it was a transfer service and didn’t need one. The other people on the tour had to help me determine what was the correct time for the boat as lunch carried on after the pickup time of 12:30pm mentioned by the Spanish Guide. If I didn’t have an offline English Translator, I wouldn’t know when to go. Everyone on the tour got to visit the aquarium except for me which was unfortunate. Would not recommend.
