Description
Lors de cette visite à pied, vous serez ébloui par les cascades de Salto do Prego où vous aurez également la possibilité de vous baigner. Vous découvrirez également le village pittoresque de Sanguinho et Faial da Terra, une vallée qui rencontre la mer.

La journée commence en quittant Ponta Delgada en direction de l’est de l’île en faisant un petit arrêt dans le village de Povoação (première colonie de l’île) pour une pause de confort (30 min) où vous aurez l’occasion de goûter aux douceurs traditionnelles «Fofas». '.
En arrivant à Faial da Terra, nous commençons notre promenade dans le petit coin pittoresque de "Sanguinho", où vous profiterez non seulement d'une vue panoramique à couper le souffle, mais aussi des explications de notre guide sur cet endroit fantastique. Nous continuons le chemin à travers une végétation exotique et dense pour atteindre la magnifique cascade "Salto do Prego", où vous pourrez, si vous le souhaitez, vous baigner dans des eaux claires et fraîches. Nous continuons le sentier et suivons une "levada" jusqu'à ce que nous arrivions au Faial de la Terre.
En option: un pique-nique à l'état sauvage ou un repas complet qui se tiendra à Faial sur Terre, dans une maison de campagne traditionnelle où la nourriture est cuite au four à bois. En fin de journée, nous retournons à Ponta Delgada.

This hike was so beautiful! It is a bit steep,but we took breaks and lots of pictures. Miguel and Goui were kind and patient.

The trip was wonderful. We had the privilege to spend the day with the guide Vasco. He is very polite, cheerful, considerate and told us a lot about the origin of the Azores and nature. Highly recommended. Be sure to. The waterfalls, the surrounding mountains, the releasing chickens, abandoned houses are impressions that are not to be forgotten.
The hike was a little steep at first. The tour guide was amazing and so helpful! From the moment we stepped into the car!!! He made sure my mom was comfortable bc she had not hiked in many years. He was just all around great! The waterfall was very nice as well. The stop at the tea factory was lovely ending to our day! Def do this excursion if you like to hike!
The itinerary as described at booking online was not close to the itinerary that the guide had planned for us. Our guide did a great job trying to accommodate us and doing what was what we thought we were supposed to get anyway, but it was awkward for us to have him doing things that he had not planned on doing. The lunch was not good, pre-wrapped store bought sandwiches with a lot of mayonnaise , a kids juice box, an apple, and a candy bar. I certainly would’ve thought the lunch would have been more representative of something local to the Azores.
My friend and I visited the Azores in December and wanted to hike. This tour was amazing!! Andre was our guide and was incredible! He was very knowledgeable and genuinely wanted us to enjoy his island. He knows many languages and spoke English beautifully. The hike is about 2.5 hrs plus time to stop and take pictures. It can be steep and thin/muddy trails so I would recommend water, hiking shoes, and good health (if you aren’t regularly active I believe this would be difficult to hike). We heard during peak tourist season this trial is crazy busy but we LOVED our off season experience!! Weather was perfect! After André packed us a beautiful picnic and answered all the questions we had. Highly recommend this tour if you want to experience nature and André to help you understand the beautiful of the azores!
This was our first trip to the Azores and our first experience. We booked a hiking tour and it was so much more. Vasco P. picked us up on time and was a delightful companion - smart, knowledgable, and eager to share the many aspects of his beloved island. We talked non-stop for 8 hours and spent time with both local people and in the stunningly gorgeous scenery. The hike was steep at first but otherwise very manageable. we would recommend Vasco and this spectacular day for anyone visiting the Azores for the first time or the hundredth time,

The view was amazing and the hike was nice. We are just waiting for some pictures he took of us at the waterfalls when we were swimming.

Really enjoyed this 2 hour hike in the mountains around Faial da Terra. The start of the hike was very challenging but afterwards it was nice and steady with a stop at a beautiful waterfall where you can have a dip if you wish. After the hike we had some time to relax by the ocean and our knowledgeable guide Miguel even took us for a cup of tea to the Gorrena Tea Plantation and stopped at St Iria viewpoint which are not a part of the tour. Please note that if your hike takes longer you may have no time for extra stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour.
