Shalom ve baruch haba! La visite juive de Recife et d'Olinda est une expérience très spéciale pour ceux qui souhaitent en savoir plus sur la présence des Juifs et des Nouveaux Chrétiens à Recife aux XVIe et XVIIe siècles. Le guide historien vous emmènera à la découverte des principales étapes de la présence juive au Brésil, ainsi que des informations sur l'économie coloniale brésilienne, la culture socio-religieuse du peuple brésilien et les guerres européennes qui ont amené les Juifs portugais de Hollande au cours du XVIIe siècle. À Olinda, nous visiterons quelques-unes des principales églises, marchés et rues de l'époque coloniale, ainsi que les principaux vestiges de la présence marrane au Brésil au XVIe siècle, en plus de la maison de Branca Dias et d'un mikvé (bassin de purification) qui représente la résistance culturelle « marrane » durant l'ère coloniale. . À Recife, la visite nous conduira au centre historique où la majeure partie de la communauté juive était concentrée pendant la période néerlandaise du XVIIe siècle ; nous visiterons la première synagogue publique des Amériques.

Unbelievably meaningful and complete tour of Jewish and non -Jewish sights of Recife and Olinda. But this was much more than a tour but a personal and intimate account by 2 phenomenal tour guides,Jader and Eve, who supplemented with accounts from their family’s respective experiences. We ended the tour with a sherbet dessert. This was the best tour we ever had.

Lovely way to look at Recife in Olinda with longtime Jewish residents who know the history well. Very moving to explore Jewish neighborhoods and imagine their energy before everyone moved. Jager was the historian who spoke only Portuguese but his sister Roseane translated which worked out alright. They were amenable when we wanted to stop and look at other sights along the way. Really a pleasure to spend the day with them.

Those who want to have a memorable, enriching and unforgettable experience about the early Jewish presence in Brazil, can do this tour. I met the first synagogue of the Americas : fascinating ... the house of Branca Dias ( in Olinda ) , the Jewish neighborhood , already from the post-war years , where there were shops , houses and a Jewish synagogue at the time but which is still in perfect condition . For those from Rio type to Plaza 11 and nearby areas. My guide picked me up at the hotel and we made several circuits. I felt very well received. Meu guia foi o Jader Taschlitsky .
