Jerash a été fondée au IIe siècle avant JC et était l'une des dix villes de la Décapole, une ligue de villes romaines de la région. La ville a été bien préservée grâce à une tempête de sable qui l'a ensevelie au VIIIe siècle après JC. The water was warm for January, which made floating in the Dead Sea easy. Jerash was amazing. Got there at opening so we had the place to ourselves for about an hour before the tour buses arrive, which was perfect.
Wonderful day in Jordan! I had an excellent private tour from Amman to Jerash and the Dead Sea. The entire experience was smooth, well-organized, and truly memorable. My driver, Mohammad, was outstanding—professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the stops. He made the drive comfortable and shared helpful insights and history along the way.
