Cette visite au départ de Jaipur vous mènera à l'emblématique Taj Mahal, au majestueux fort d'Agra et à l'ancienne ville de Fatehpur Sikri. Préparez-vous pour un voyage dans le temps en explorant ces merveilles architecturales et en découvrant leur signification culturelle. Votre journée commencera par une prise en charge à 6h30 de votre hôtel par votre chauffeur privé dans un véhicule climatisé. De là, vous vous dirigerez vers Agra où vous pourrez admirer l'époustouflant Taj Mahal, connu comme le plus grand monument d'amour au monde. Vous aurez également la chance d'explorer le fort d'Agra et de visiter Fatehpur Sikri, qui abrite l'une des plus grandes portes du monde.

Cette magnifique ville antique fortifiée, située à 40 km à l'ouest d'Agra, était la capitale éphémère de l'empire moghol pendant le règne de l'empereur Akbar. la première ville planifiée des Mughals et aussi la première conçue dans l'architecture moghole, une fusion de l'architecture indienne, de l'architecture persane et islamique. Il a été déclaré site du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en 1986… .. !!
L’attrait magique du Taj Mahal ne nous en dit pas beaucoup car les mots ne peuvent en justifier la beauté, vous devez le voir par vous-même pour attirer les touristes à Agra comme des papillons à une flamme merveilleuse. Et malgré le battage médiatique, c’est aussi bon que ce que vous avez entendu.
Réparti sur une superficie de 24 hectares, cet immense fort de grès rouge s'étend parallèlement à la rivière Yamuna et à 2 kilomètres au nord-ouest du Taj Mahal. Le Fort d'Agra (Fort Rouge) était à l'origine occupé par Sikarwar Rajputs et a ensuite été capturé par les dirigeants Lodi de Delhi. après la défaite des Lodi lors de la bataille de Panipat, le vainqueur, l’empereur Babur, s'empare du fort. Après avoir brièvement perdu le fort au profit des dirigeants Suri, il fut finalement récupéré par Akbar qui fit d'Agra sa capitale.

Absolutely one of the best experiences of my life! The staff were very accommodating, especially for older travelers who wanted to go back to the hotel before our activities were finished for the day. We never had to ask more than once for any special requests. I personally wanted a souvenir cup from Starbucks (collect them for my kids). Our guide Raj and our driver made sure we made a quick 10 min stop to buy one.

From the planning until the final drop off at our final destination, everything was smooth, flexible, accommodating, kind, easy, personalised, tailored, friendly, on time. We had a very short time because we only had 2 days to visit Jaipur, Agra (Taj Mahal) and finish in Delhi. Janu Tours made everything to suit our needs, they said "yes" to every reasonable request we made, so we could have a tailored tour for our needs, preferences and time availability. We were only seeking a guided tour, but we ended staying at Janu's Marigold Homestay instead of a major well known and reputed international hotel chain because Janu's Marigold Homestay had such good reviews that we were curious. Reviews were right, a clean, comfortable, spacious hotel room with everything you can expect from a good hotel, at affordable prices. Plus a relaxing roof top to drink a beer or eat something. We were picked up at Jaipur train station by our kind and helpful and patient driver, Jeetu on a comfortable mid-size SUV. We visited Jaipur during one day, and the next we went to Agra and of course the expected Taj Mahal without having to worry about anything, with the respective guides. Finally we were dropped at our hotel in Delhi. We couldn´t have asked for more. Both the Marigold Homestay and the driver also helped with currency exchange (USD, EUR) every time we needed at good exchange rates. The driver even lent us rupees when we ran out of rupees until we had time to exchange currency with him too. I will definitely recommend to anyone I know who plans to go to Jaipur/Agra. A suggestion, would be to ask the tourist if he is interested in seeing the marble workshop and store, before taking him there (not everyone is interested).
