Istanbul : Bain turc historique de Sifa sur la place Sultanahmet

Very enjoyable experience. We were looking for a hamam experience that was traditional. Sifa bath has been in operation continously since 1777, making it the absolute choice. We went in not knowing what to expect, and left happy with our experience. Owner came out to talk with us while we had our tea, very nice gentleman.

I only had a short layover in Istanbul, but stumbling upon Sifa Hammam turned out to be one of the best decisions of the trip. And I do mean stumbling — it's tucked away near Sultanahmet with little more than a small sign and an open door to mark it. Easy to walk right past, but that's half the charm. This place isn't trying to flag you down, and that tells you everything. Sifa Hammam has been in the same family for generations, and the building itself is centuries old. You feel that history the moment you step inside. The owner sat down with me over tea and shared stories about the hammam's past that made the whole experience come alive. Sitting in that ancient marble steam room, hearing about the generations of people who had passed through those same walls — it was genuinely moving. For history lovers and curious travelers, that alone is worth the visit. The experience itself is straightforward and excellent — no tourist traps, no hidden costs, no extra frills you'd never use anyway. Just an honest, outstanding hammam at a fair price. The scrub and bubble foam treatment left my skin feeling completely renewed, the perfect send-off before a long flight home. The staff were warm and welcoming throughout, and the intimate atmosphere made it feel like a personal experience rather than a conveyor belt of tourists. I was pressed for time on this visit, but I'm already thinking about coming back when I can slow down and fully soak it all in. Highly recommend to anyone passing through Istanbul — layover or not. Just keep your eyes open or you might miss the door.

Excellent repeat experience…. Considerate, (80 + yrs old grandma from Canada) thorough full treatments professionally applied by two experienced ladies accompanied by a warm welcome and hospitality from owner. Highly recommended.

Was a good and relaxing experience! They were very welcoming and kind. My attendant was very nice. You have a locker for your items and a towel and shoes to wear.

I had a wonderful experience at a traditional Turkish bath. The warm, relaxing atmosphere and soothing treatments left me feeling completely refreshed. Traditional Turkish bath, typical bathhouse, friendliness and authenticity, next to the blue mosque, essential experience if you come to stanbul. Excellent.

Loved the atmosphere and the bubble massage was amazing. It was my first time in a Hamam and I loved every second. Would recommend to anyone.
