Alasdair was a terrific guide for this adventure. He offered so many photo-op stops along the way. Full of history and love for the area, his explanation of the past and present was very easy to understand. Lunch spot he recommended was excellent. We will use him again for sure.
Alastair was phenomenal! Very hospitable and was very personable and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend him! Small group, very comfortable can!
This was an excellent excursion for us. Alastair was a very informative and really fun guide. Although the weather was misty, we still had a wonderful time at Dunrobin Castle and Dornoch.
Our driver & Guide Sarah was amazing! We loved the smaller group size & comfortable van. Dunrobin Castle & the Falconry show were AMAZING, definitely a must see! On the way there and back, Sarah drove us along back roads really showing us the beautiful countryside. We stopped at many great sights for pictures and she provided details of what we stopped to see. Highly recommend this tour company and Sarah!
We had an absolutely fantastic day on this tour. We were picked up at the cruise port as arranged in a beautiful immaculate van. Unfortunately other people had cancelled so we were lucky enough to have the tour to ourselves. Thank you very much for not canceling the tour. The scenery was fabulous and made numerous stops for spectacular views. Loved going to The beautiful castle Dunrobin plus the falconry show. Can’t recommend Go Highlands tour group highly enough and would use them for private arrangements as well. Than you again for a fabulous day!
George Ritchie is a knowledgeable and accommodating guide. Gave us wonderful overview and plenty of background info. Even went out of his way to show me a couple of top golf courses. Castle and gardens are spectacular. Definitely recommend.
The so called "guide" arrived late, and the company gave a false excuse. We asked the driver, and he said that it was not true. According to the description of the tour, we were supposed to have a "knowledgeable, kilted guide." The driver was not wearing a kilt, and did not share any knowledge. We sat in complete silence for most of the time. Also we were not offered any water as described. On the tour we did the previous day and for a lot less money, the guide spoke the entire time, and we had a goodie bag with local beverages and treats. We were just expecting water. What a difference a guide can make. We loved Dunrobin Castle and the falconry exhibition, as we are bird lovers. It was fun to stop and meet the highland cow. We didn't get to walk around Loch Fleet which was disappointing, because we like birds, nature, and wildlife. I think we drove right by it, but the driver never said anything so we didn't know. We had to find out some information about Dornoch Cathedral from a kilted guide from another company who accompanied his guests inside. Our driver just dropped us off and stayed in the van. We contacted the owner afterwards about our disappointment, and he said my wife was rude. Yes we were irritated when the driver was late, and we were told to arrive early. No we did not believe that the driver was tying up the ship... come on! It would have been more professional to apologize for the poor experience and offer at least a partial refund, not insult my wife. You can see in the reviews when someone isn't completely satisfied, it is someone else's fault. I believe we would have had a much better experience with George or Alistair, but it was a bad luck of the draw.
Stephen, our guide, waited for us as we were delayed an hour getting off our ship due to Scottish customs. The tour was narrated well and we saw a large part of the Scottish landscape, small towns, distillery, golf course and the million dollar view (which was only worth 1/2 million, due to rain and slight fog). There was one other surprise at the end of the tour which I won’t ruin. Based on the fact we were an hour short due to customs we feel the tour was well worth it. (He also made one of our group members extremely happy when he found the bag she forgot and returned it to the dock). We unfortunately did not see any Highland Cows, although we did look for them. I would highly recommend this tour.
Amazing and beautiful!Nice combination of history and scenery.Good narrative and value for Scotland.
Recommend this tour to all travelers
