My friend and I visited Jason Tours in October and did a 6 hour inshore trip. We had a FANTASTIC day with captain Emillio. We caught a variety of fish with a variety of different techniques. Fish species included, Yellowfin Tuna, Dog Tooth Tuna, Broomtail Grouper, Amberjack, Roosterfish, Barracuda, and Jack Crevalle. The lunch was good and cold drinks on board was a bonus! It was a great experience!

Our Capitan appeared to be a good fisherman, but was not a good host. Upon arrival, none of the fishing boats had any signage on where to go. None of the boats were prepped and ready to go…so maybe that is how they roll. Thirty minutes later, we took off. The fishing is really trolling. Fine. Our capitan didn’t introduce himself, talk to us, didn’t tell us the game plan. He was uptight about any sand in the boat. He just seemed like he hated his job. We’re competent fisher people and not annoying. Let it be said that we did catch six skip jack tunas and one rooster fish. This guy is the only grumpy person we’ve dealt with in Costa Rica.

I’ve fished with Jason CR Fishing Charters before and have always had a great experience. Reputable company, good solid boat. We did the 3 hour tour and that was plenty of time to get some good fish. Jason is very nice, easy to coordinate with over email, and runs a good, reliable operation. This time we had a different captain—he was a solid fisherman and clearly knew what he was doing, though not particularly friendly or welcoming. That said, we caught fish, which was the goal, and had a good day on the water. Overall, a good experience!

So 1st off I want to say I’m an experienced fishing captain in Alaska, and I’ve been out fishing with several different tours in Costa Rica over the last several years. Our recent trip with Miguel was by far the best. They were absolutely professional and very experienced, it was a great success and very reasonable. We usually stay at Roma Del Mar casa 21 best views and accommodations in Costa Rica then drive over early morning to fish. I will absolutely book with them again !! Can’t wait to go out and catch more !

Beautiful views, caught a little tuna and a huge Roosterfish (catch and release). Family struggles a bit with motion sickness so we cut it short, still a great time.

We had a very fun afternoon !! we knew the weather was complicated, but despite everything we could see whales, fish and have a good time, excellent care. We've already said we'll be back!!

Great fishing trip! The guide, Erik, was very knowledgeable. We caught a bunch of skipjack tuna, a yellow fin tuna, and I reeled in a Rooster! Awesome day on the boat. They cleaned it for us after and we ate like kings and queens that night.
