If the ferry experience hadn't been so good, this would have been a much lower rating. We had a freediving trip cancelled due to bad weather and needed to reschedule our ferry. I called as soon as it was cancelled—22 hours before our booking—but the person on the phone refused to reschedule. Sticking strictly to a 24-hour policy when the weather was out of our control felt greedy, and losing the €68 with zero flexibility was mean. Thankfully, the crew on the ferry made up for it. They were fantastic and even took our bags out so we didn’t have to lug them off the boat. They were very friendly.
I so enjoyed our Inis Oirr day trip guided by Padraic. He arranged for us to enjoy Irish dancing and singing, brought us to the Arts center to make St. Brigid Crosses, and guided us all over the island teaching us the history of the Aran Islands. We had a special day with pristine weather, and he made calls to arrange for our ferry to Doolin to take a stop beneath the Cliffs of Moher, which was one of the most special moments on our trip. Padraic went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely time and I am so thankful to him!
Competent handling of the whole process of getting a scheduled space on a bus in Galway to take you and your luggage to Rosaville(?); from there one gets on a ferry which is scheduled and makes a 45 minutes voyage to the village of Kilronen on Inis Mor. Competent helpful staff; we did a return trip four days later and had the same experience. The waters can be a bit rough and so if you're afflicted with motion sickness you should take appropriate precautions. So far as we are aware this is one way one can get back and forth to the beautiful island of Inis Mor. There is also air service, but we know nothing about it.
I checked the weather all week, and it was good. When we woke on day of trip it was pouring out, and the the weather app was calling for 80% rain for an outdoor trip. I called and asked if we could switch our tour to Friday, and was told no since we didn’t call prior to 24 hours. What a shame to waste money. It didn’t feel like any consideration was given. Wouldn’t book through Viator again.
Wonderful experience from the moment I logged on to the webpage to the moment I stepped on shore at Inis Oirr. My attention was piqued from the beautiful pictures and videos I found on social media, which pale in comparison to when the action goes live and you step on the deck. Everyone from the office to the boat crew was super friendly and accommodating. Really happy I came across these folks, too-notch. I’m already planning my next visit!
The island is so pretty. Full of character. Residents so friendly. We also enjoyed the the relaxing atmosphere in the pub after our cycle.
Beautiful islands, the ferry is very quick to get you there, very clean ferry and staff were helpful, would highly reccommend to everyone
Panoramas of infinite beauty, encounters of great sincerity on Inisheer. A very emotionally rich tour, a guide, Phil' with real sympathy and conveying all the greatness of soul of the Irish people.
Fantastic Trip. Was a little concerned about being able to socially distance from other passengers on board but there was no issues there. Aran Island Ferries have plenty of space on board for everyone, and we felt very safe. The boat itself was well kept and clean. Had a lovely voyage over to Inis Oirr for a day trip, will have to go back and see the other islands soon!
I love this Island had to go back I've been so many times now. As a child I stayed for a month in the gaelteacht and it was one of the best times I ever had.
