Enjoyable day trip with Viet our guide. Very well balanced itinerary and would be happy to recommend
Around 7am we were picked up at our hotel in Hoi An. Then the drive to Da Nang and Hoi Van. Then a stopover at Lang Co/Lap an lahune. Personally, I find the described mountain pass, coastal road overly described. If you've already travelled a bit, it's beautiful but not exceptional. Then transit to the imperial city at Hue, palace, mausoleum, pagoda,... In the afternoon a nice lunch in a local restaurant in Hue. Very nice, lots of explanations from a smooth guide. Please allow for a 3 to 4 hour round trip to Hoi An.
Hi Bredene, The road from Hoi An to Hue is quite a long one, so we’re glad the Imperial City, the local lunch, and your guide’s explanations made the journey worthwhile in the end. And yes — the Hải Vân Pass does get a bit of “movie trailer treatment” sometimes, especially for seasoned travelers! Thank you for sharing such balanced and thoughtful feedback, and we hope to welcome you on another adventure through Central Vietnam soon. With regards, Hoi An Express Travel Team
So much history! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area and history, we learnt so much. Lunch was delicious and our driver was there to pick us up as soon as we finished each section of the tour. Highly recommend doing this!
The tour was well organized and our tour guide was very nice and informative. We had about the right amount of time at each place and the van was comfortable and well air conditioned. The tour hits the highlights which is what we wanted. We were disappointed with the view at Hai Van Pass - the air at the end of March is not very clear - it obviously wasn't the fault of the tour guide - but everyone had been telling us we needed to go to the pass because it was so beautiful but you really couldn't see much from the pass. The gate at the pass was interesting however and the pass is on the way so not a big deal to stop for 10 minutes - i just wanted to warn folks that going just to see the pass would be unfortunate. The other stops were great and lunch was very good. The other thing i wish i had known ahead of time is that it can get very hot so best to bring a fan or cold towel.
This was an absolutely great tour! Not only we were the only ones taking it which was awesome, the itinerary was well planned and we got to see so many things! Even despite the rain in the beginning that limited the ability to get amazing views on the Hai Van pass we had a great time. Hue Imperial city and other stops were a must-see and our guide Abby was fantastic and gave a lot of info about history and traditions. Absolutely recommend!

Great tour but a lot of steps to some of the places we visited. Enjoyed the Palace. Our guide was friendly and very informative. Especially enjoyed a delicious and generous lunch.
A long but informative day visiting some wonderful historic sights. Emily was a wonderful tour guide who made our day very memorable.
Tour to Hue turned out to be a private tour with guide Emily and driver Lao. Emily was fantastic, very energetic, funny, knowledgeable, and good paparazzi;) Lunch was delicious! Tour was very interesting. Emily gave us a lot of interestings facts about dynasty Nguyen and some other info about country in present times. It was a long day bit we didnt really feel it thanks to Emily. Great job!
We had a very full but enjoyable day today. Our destination was Hue and we went via the Hai Van pass which had stunning views. We stopped at Lang Co, Emperor Khai Dinh’s mausoleum and the Imperial City at Hue. We enjoyed a 7 course Vietnamese meal in a beautiful restaurant, followed by a Pagoda visit and ride along the river in a boat. Our guide, My was very friendly and knowledgeable and we were never rushed. The drive back to Da Nang was long but it was overall very worthwhile.
Great day Emily our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly Was a long day with 3 hrs travel each way
