Pune est une ville au patrimoine culturel très riche qui se découvre mieux lors d'une visite à pied. Au cours de cette visite à pied, nous visitons Shaniwarwada, le fort hanté et siège du pouvoir des Peshwas, le magnifique Lal Mahal construit par le père de Shivaji Maharaj, le temple Dagdu Sheth de Lord Ganesh construit par un doux faiseur de rencontres, Kasba Ganpati dont l'idole a été installée par Shivaji Maharaj et Laxmi commercialisent le bazar populaire pour faire du shopping.

Itinéraire
Nous commençons la visite à pied de Shaniwar Wada, siège du pouvoir des Peshwas ou premiers ministres du puissant empire Maratha, puissance dominante en Inde entre le XVIIe et le XIXe siècle. Ce palais a été construit en 1730 en l'honneur de Peshwa Bajirao Ballal Balaji Bhat pour les services rendus à l'empire Maratha. Shaniwarwada est considéré comme l'endroit le plus hanté de Pune! Plus à ce sujet pendant la tournée.
Dagdu Sheth est un temple dédié à Lord Ganesh et sans doute le plus célèbre de Pune. Un fabricant de bonbons qui a perdu son fils des suites de la peste a construit ce temple en 1892. Le temple a joué un rôle crucial en inspirant Lokmanya Tilaorganizeanise le festival annuel de Ganesh pour unir les Indiens et lutter pour leur libération des Britanniques.
Nous traversons le marché de Laxmi, le paradis des acheteurs! Nous visitons des boutiques pittoresques dans le plus célèbre bazar et marché aux puces de Pune. Il a été bien nommé d'après la déesse hindoue de la richesse. 13h00 - Retour au marché de Laxmi.
L'histoire prend vie dans ce temple emblématique. L'idole de Ganesh a été installée par nul autre que Shivaji Maharaj et sa mère Jija bai en 1630. Le temple est la divinité présidant la ville de Pune et a le privilège de la première immersion lors du festival Ganpati.
Lal Mahal ou le Palais Rouge a été créé en 1630 par Shahaji Bhosle, le père de Shivaji Maharaj. Il est célèbre pour la rencontre entre Shivaji Maharaj et Shaista Khan. Alors que le bâtiment d'origine est tombé en ruines, le bâtiment actuel est une reconstruction et possède des peintures à l'huile qui dépeignent des événements importants de la vie de Shivaji Maharaj.

Dhruv was such a great teacher. He tied in the geography of Pune with the history of its people, religion, architecture, food and so much more. He tailored the tour to my interests and was a master of dates and places. I had an amazing day and would 100% recommend this tour.

Ajit was great—he was friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the tour and it was a great introduction to Pune. I didn’t know when I signed up that I would have my own guide (I thought it would be a group tour) so that was a surprise. It was also nice to be picked up at my hotel since I had just arrived and didn’t know my way around yet.

I enjoyed the cultural walking tour with Pankaj. He's very knowledge about the sites and history of the people and places that we are visiting. He introduced me to delicious snacks and drinks, he is communicative and on time. He even stayed behind to ensure that I got into the uber I ordered before we parted way. The forts & temples we visited are great example of the local history.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Ajit. He is a highly knowledgeable guide and we learned a great deal during our visit. Our 'three hour' tour lasted longer than that, because we were extremely interested in what he was telling us and showing us. At the end we asked him to point us in the direction of a nice south Indian restaurant: Wadeshwar was a perfect conclusion to our morning. Highly recommended

The tour was absolutely brilliant. Ajit sir was so passionate about these places in Pune that it rubbed off on us. He knew the history and told us everything from start to beginning while taking us through the tour. A genuine joy to take this tour. Made our pune trip sooo worth it.
