Museu Afro Brasil, dans le parc Ibirapuera (São Paulo), célèbre le patrimoine africain et afro-brésilien à travers l'art, l'histoire et la culture. Installé dans le pavillon moderniste Padre Manoel da Nóbrega d’Oscar Niemeyer, il a ouvert ses portes en 2004. Plus de 6 000 œuvres explorent l’esclavage, la résistance, la religion et les influences africaines au Brésil. Parmi les pièces phares, citons des pièces de Carybé, Rubem Valentim et Mestre Didi, ainsi que des orishas sacrées et des instruments de musique. Avec une entrée gratuite, il accueille des expositions, des ateliers et des événements, favorisant le dialogue sur l'égalité raciale. Une visite incontournable pour comprendre l’héritage noir du Brésil.

Pedro was very professional, so I felt very safe in such a huge city like São Paulo on E-bike - he knew his way around the city and how to interact with the locals. The bikes were also in good condition and had a fair electric draw. The park itself (a small oasis in the concrete metropolis) was a nice place to be, with experiments going on and such like. And as we dismantled for a short walk, there were some interesting exchanges to be had, such as the sustainability of such a mammoth concrete environment, for example. This made the trip worthwhile and more engaging for me personally. Pedro also fully explained the controversial significance of the Monument to the Bandeiras (as pictured), which one can relate to our own caste/class systems. I would most definitely recommend this trip
