Our guide Charith was the best. He answered all our questions and showed us very special places in the park. You could tell he has a lot of experience, as he knew when the clouds will open to have the best view and was super friendly, even though it was very early :-) We recommend 100%!
We had a fantastic tour with Harshana! He was not only incredibly pleasant, but also knew a lot about the park and knew the best spots. He could tell us a lot about country and people and his English was excellent. The car was very luxurious and he drove very safely – which is not always a given in Sri Lanka. In general, Harshana was a great tour guide who always responded to our wishes. We can highly recommend him. Ask directly for Harshana, he replies immediately on WhatsApp and is a great guide!
In the midst of beautiful tea garden through the beautiful ramboda waterfall through ramboda tunnel Arriving in beautiful nuwaraeliya mind-blowing view cold climate beautiful mountain range you have to come to the nuwaraeliya city to see it
Charith our guide was very patient and informative, we enjoyed the trek with him. The trek was early morning and Charith picked up on time , we also went for a Tea factory visit , it was good
This was definitely the best thing we did in Nurawa Eliya! Charith was the perfect guide - he’s very friendly and knowledgeable, and took us on routes we’d never have found on our own. We loved the tea factory and would definitely recommend adding on this part of the tour. Overall it’s quite an expensive day but we think it’s worth it.
Charith was an excellent driver and a very pleasant guide overall! He was very friendly and we appreciated how we could go at our own pace. We initially only signed up for the hike alone, but ended up going to the tea factory as well, which was a nice extra experience. The weather was misty and rainy so we couldn’t take in the view so much during the hike at Horton Plains; however, my family and I loved our experience. It was so beautiful and definitely worth visiting. One thing that i would have liked to know beforehand is that no single use plastic is allowed into the park… We had brought snacks and we needed to repack all of them in paper bags that the park provided.
Thank you Charith for a great time at Horton Plains! Charith found out we liked lizards and was our expert lizard-spotter, took us to beautiful hidden spots and made sure we got some great pictures. A really lovely guy and great guide.
We had a wonderfull time with our guide Charith. He was very nice and gave us enough time to take pictures and ask questions. He also spotted some animals for us and guided us to some hidden spots wich where worth the effort and time. We had a hike of about 11km in total (appr 4 hours) We had some good weather and then horton plains is worth the money. I still think 25$ + 10$ servicefee is way too much to be able too. walk in nature. After the beautiful walk we headed to Damro tea factory which is located on a very nice spot. The tour and tea is free of charge and the cake costs only 400lkr a piece. Tour only takes 15-20 minutes but it's fun to see how tea is produced. Really recommend the trip (if the weater is bad maybe not so much, bu nothing you can do about that) Again, Charith, thank you very much fpr the wonderfull day!
This was one of the best experiences I had in Sri Lanka. We were greeted by our guid Charith early in the morning. He drove us to Horton plains. He guided us through the best hiking paths within Horton plains. During the hike, he helped me and my family to successfully navigate the tough terrain. Without his help, we would have given up half way. Additionally, Charith showed us many small attractions on the way, and was very patient with us. He even guided us to nice restaurants during the day. Overall, we'd live a 10/10 to Charith for being the most friendly and helpful guide on our vacation to SL.
This was an excellent tour. Charith was an excellent guide. He gave lot of advices about other hikes as well. While entering we were lucky enough to spot a leopard. Then we spotted samba deer. In the morning since it was very windy , Charith arranged some winter gear as well. The national park is very beautiful. It’s a nice hike. Not very difficult. Inside the park we saw multiple birds, giant squirrel, purple faced monkey. The Baker’s falls is also quite nice. Charith had the knowledge of a path different from the regular trail which would take to the highest pint of the park. The view from there was absolutely stunning. After the national park, we took some break for lunch and then headed to the tea factory. It’s a nice tea factory where they explain the process of black tea manufacturing. Then there is free tea tasting. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone visiting nuwara eliya.
