Embarquez pour un petit groupe de 3 heures d'observation des baleines et de visite de la faune à partir de Hoonah, en Alaska, à bord de nos navires construits sur mesure avec cabines chauffées et toilettes. Chaque saison, les baleines à bosse viennent en grand nombre à Hoonah pour se nourrir des eaux riches en nutriments de Glacier Bay et du détroit de Glacier avant de migrer à nouveau vers le sud pour l'hiver. La population de baleines commence à arriver à Hoonah en mai et reste jusqu'en septembre.

VEUILLEZ ARRIVER 15 MINUTES AVANT LE DÉPART PRÉVU DE VOTRE VISITE, PAR COURTOISIE POUR LES AUTRES QUE NOUS LAISSONS À L'HEURE. Si votre navire est à quai au quai Ocean Landing, rendez-vous à terre au centre d'aventures du détroit de Glace. Une fois à l'intérieur du centre d'aventure, traversez le bâtiment et sortez par la porte numéro"2". (Ceci est clairement indiqué au-dessus de la porte.) Une fois à l'extérieur, suivez les panneaux le long du chemin de gravier jusqu'au carrefour des excursions. Le temps de marche total du navire est de 10 minutes, veuillez prévoir du temps supplémentaire si vous n'êtes pas un marcheur rapide. Nous vous demandons de vous enregistrer 15 minutes à l'avance et nous partons à l'heure. Si votre navire est à quai au Wilderness Dock, remontez le quai et tournez à droite. Montez sur la télécabine Green Transporter (4 minutes de trajet) jusqu'à l'Aventure Landing. Sortez de la télécabine et allez à gauche, suivez les panneaux indiquant le carrefour des excursions. Si vous ne prenez pas la télécabine, il y a un sentier que vous pouvez marcher - c'est une marche de 1/2 mille. À la sortie des bois, commencez à chercher le panneau qui indique Excursion Hub sur votre gauche. Suivez le chemin de gravier jusqu'au carrefour des excursions. Veuillez vous enregistrer auprès du représentant de l'aventure de voyage Hoonah lorsque vous arrivez au carrefour! Si vous arrivez par AK Seaplanes ou AK Marine Highway, veuillez nous appeler avant votre voyage pour prendre d'autres dispositions.

This excursion was a fantastic experience. While it is on the pricier side, that is to be expected given the location, and it is well worth the cost for the quality of the tour. Our guide was excellent, the group size was perfectly managed, and we saw an incredible number of whales throughout the trip. Highly recommended!
A word of caution if booking this tour. What they neglect to tell you is that the price does not include a return to the excursion center. You are left in town where there is absolutely nothing. You stand in line in the rain for extended times while a couple local shuttles try to return 2 cruise ships of people 38 at a time. Save your money it’s not worth the price.
My wife and I traveled with our friends and booked the whale watching trip. The pick up was easy, the captain and her 1st mate were really friendly and engaging and worked hard to make sure we saw whales. We were fortunate to see both humpback and orcas.
This was a great excursion-small group, very informative, comfortable boat and best of all-whales! A few bears on the shore, sea lions, a sea otter-and whales! Captain Denise and Annaliese, the naturalist on board, made sure to give interesting background, stories and legends of all the places we went to. Everybody involved in getting us where we needed to be was super-friendly and the older fellow that drove us from the excursion center to the dock had good stories to share as well. Besides this excursion we highly recommend the Fisherman's Daughter in Hoonah for milkshakes! If we had time we would have stayed on their patio for a local beer but we'll do that next time. If your weather is nice, like it was for us, definitely walk back to the excursion center along the water, because it's just so beautiful.
Wonderful tour. The operator was reliable, the boat was beautiful, spotless, and comfortable, with plenty of outdoor access and enough space for everyone despite being a medium-sized group. A knowledgeable young lady on board provided interesting explanations about the city, wildlife, orcas, and humpback whales. We were lucky to encounter a group of several orcas, as well as numerous whales. The highlight was seeing a humpback whale breach completely out of the water very close to our boat, an absolutely extraordinary experience! We highly recommend this tour and would gladly do it again.
We had an amazing whale-watching tour with Hoonah Travel Adventures! Captain Denise Gray was professional, warm, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating information about Hoonah’s history and culture, along with many interesting facts about the local wildlife. Her passion for the area made the experience both exciting and educational. We highly recommend Captain Denise and Hoonah Travel Adventures to anyone visiting Hoonah!
This was one of the most amazing travel experiences you could hope for. Captain Denise was amazing, full of stories and lore of the area, and we were so lucky to see orcas that followed our boat and a humpback whale that breached multiple times right in front of us. Then, a bald eagle was soaring overhead and then dove and caught a fish right next to our boat. Naturalist Annalise was the perfect fit for this tour, and was as excited as we were to see these amazing creatures.
Viator description says water provided. It is not. Bring your own. Boat holds 30 guests, and our group was 30. Saw humpback whales, orcas and otters. Hard to get good photos, because so many crowded to front deck
We saw so many whales . Amazing tour!!! We got so many videos that day. We took a 5 pm tour . We were by the ship before 8 . So it was plenty of time with a 9 pm departure
Comfortable boat with excellent captain and crew member. The stories shared by the captain were entertaining.
