Hollywood a commencé comme une banlieue spéculative avant de devenir la capitale symbolique du cinéma mondial. Nous avons préparé le terrain en examinant comment la géographie, l’image de marque et la narration ont transformé un quartier en mythe mondial.
Ovation Hollywood (anciennement Hollywood & Highland) représente la réinvention du quartier au XXIe siècle — un complexe à usage mixte conçu pour ancrer le tourisme, la vente au détail et le Dolby Theatre dans une scène urbaine orchestrée. À partir de là, nous examinons comment Hollywood se redessine continuellement pour soutenir le spectacle et la pertinence économique.
De ce point de vue surélevé, nous encadrons le Hollywood Sign et revisitons ses origines de 1923 sous le nom de « Hollywoodland », une campagne immobilière vendant style de vie et aspiration. Ce qui n’était au départ que de la publicité temporaire est devenu l’un des symboles culturels les plus puissants au monde – une étude de cas sur l’image de marque, la préservation et la création de mythes mondiaux.
Plus que des stars du terrazzo, le Walk of Fame est une stratégie de marque civique créée dans les années 1960 pour relancer un quartier en déclin. Nous explorons comment Prospect Avenue a évolué pour devenir Hollywood Boulevard et comment les cycles de boom, de déclin et de réinvention continuent de définir la région.

Ce bâtiment Art déco et néogothique saisissant reflète l'optimisme financier des débuts de l'expansion de l'époque des studios. L'architecture a été conçue ici pour communiquer permanence, Champion et ambition.
Lieu de tournage de Pretty Woman, cet arrêt révèle comment de véritables espaces urbains deviennent des décors cinématographiques. Hollywood se nourrit constamment de lui-même — transformant les rues en fiction et la fiction en tourisme.
L’un des premiers grands palais du cinéma d’Hollywood, l’Egyptian Theatre a transformé le cinéma en spectacle. Inspiré de l’égyptomanie après la découverte de la tombe de Toutankhamon, il montre comment l’architecture a élevé le cinéma au rang de rituel et de fantaisie.
Pièce maîtresse de la première culture, El Capitan démontre comment les tapis rouges, la publicité orchestrée et la mise en scène théâtrale transforment les sorties cinématographiques en événements mondiaux de grande valeur.
Construit à l'origine en 1921, ce temple reflète les réseaux d'élite et les structures sociales qui ont façonné le premier pouvoir hollywoodien. Aujourd'hui, en tant que studio de télévision, il fait le pont entre la culture fraternelle secrète et les médias contemporains.
Abritant le célèbre parvis des empreintes de mains, ce théâtre a institutionnalisé le rituel des célébrités. La tradition renforce la permanence et le mythe dans une industrie construite sur l'illusion et la réinvention.
Lieu des Oscars, le Dolby Theatre représente le rituel de légitimité le plus visible d’Hollywood. Les Oscars fonctionnent comme une diffusion mondiale soigneusement orchestrée renforçant la hiérarchie, le prestige et l'influence culturelle.

Marc was an excellent guide ,very nice and prepared. Showed us a lot of particular places, old photos and gave us a lot of normally unknown infos. We were very happy to have a tour with him. Would recommend to all . If we return would like to make other tours with him
We booked a walking tour through Touch Down LA for our clients, a private experience we had planned well in advance. I had spoken with Mark early on and felt confident he was the right fit. We paid in full through his website. As the date got closer, communication completely fell apart. Emails went unanswered. Phone calls, nothing. Instagram DMs, ignored. We gave the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe he was just busy. Then, the night before the experience — THE NIGHT BEFORE — we received an email saying the experience was cancelled "from our end." That framing is simply not true. We did not cancel. He cancelled. And buried in that email was the implication that we would not be receiving a refund. We then had to scramble to accommodate our clients planned experience last minute, money we cannot recover, and zero response from Mark to this day. This is not just poor service. This is unprofessional, dishonest, and frankly unacceptable from anyone running a business. I would strongly caution anyone to think twice before trusting Touch Down LA with your experience..

Fantastic walking tour of Hollywood Boulevard. Mark explains the real history behind the theaters and the early movie industry in a way that makes the whole area come alive. I’ve walked the boulevard before but never realized how important these buildings were to film history. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed this walking tour of LA! Second tour I take with Eloi while visiting friends in LA. He is so knowledgeable about his city and showed us parts of Hollywood I wouldn't have discovered on my own. Sprinkled with movie anecdotes enriched with details from his previous life in th film industry. The pace was perfect - not rushed but we still covered a lot of ground. Appreciated the local insights and restaurant recommendations. Great way to get oriented in the city, especially if you're visiting for the first time. Would recommend.

This was such a great tour. Mark was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and he showed us a fascinating side of Hollywood - the glamour, of course, but also the history and some great stories. It was wonderful to feel like we were getting a unique look at the neighborhood and how it intersects with the entertainment industry as a whole.
