Histoires du cimetière Metairie : une visite audioguidée

Description

I tried to download the audio self-tour and gave up. I had to download 2 apps - Viator and an audio app - paid for the tour, then couldn’t access it. The instructions were unclear. I think I had to go to the funeral home on the cemetery grounds, but that wasn’t clear. Also, the Google Maps pin for the funeral home was a 10 minute walk from the actual location. Still, it’s a gorgeous cemetery and worth a visit.
Hi Gabrielle, I'm sorry that you were unhappy with your experience. When you were having technical difficulties, did you contact VoiceMap support via email or telephone? We are contactable by both telephone and email, so if you have technical difficulties, please reach out to us so we can identify what is going wrong. Again, I'm sorry about the poor experience you had. Best, Alicia
This tour is a peaceful yet haunting experience. As you walk through the cemetery, audio clips automatically play, sharing stories of military heroes and historic New Orleans figures. The architecture is striking, and the narration explains the meaning behind symbols and design styles. Being alone among the tombs adds a reflective tone, though it may feel unsettling at times. I hoped to hear about more modern individuals, but the focus stayed on older history. Still, it’s a well-done tour that’s perfect for those who enjoy local history, architecture, or quiet moments of discovery.
Did via car. Was very good but didn't point out some key graves (one was mere feet from start and stop point
It was GREAT! The app was easy to follow and the narrating was perfect-it rained on us but we were still able to drive on the route and complete the tour. Loved it!
The guided tour was well worthwhile. The GPS navigation feature worked well and guided us on our cemetery adventure. The cemetery itself hosts wonderful examples of cemetery art & architecture.
Enjoyed our tour guides knowledge - lots of good history. Loved geolocation feature and the fact that we could enjoy tour at our own pace. Look forward to reading the narration to see what I missed.
Great Tour. You can take as much time as you need and stop anytime the audiogide. Downloading and starting the Tour is super easy
Great story telling, easy to follow, and one of the highlights of our trip! Very informative and fun!
This was actually a pretty cool audio walking self guided tour. We used our phones. The GPS locator function worked very well. It stops and starts when you arrive at the next correct area. The nararrator was very clear to understand. He talks you thru the tour with directions. We rushed a bit thru it due to the very hot temperature outside but the cemetery was just so beautiful. Hearing the history of some of these families was interesting.
I was looking for a self guided audio tour and this seemed like a perfect option. So I bought it and then went through the lengthy process of creating an account, downloading the app, entering the code that was emailed to me, and then started downloading the tour. I work as an IT tech and this was even confusing and frustrating for me. Even worse, the tour would not start and kept looping me around. I spent 45 mins trying to get it to work but it never did. This was a horrible experience, DO NOT get this!
Hi Rob We're sorry this was your experience. Most people really enjoy the tour which is why it has an average rating of 5/5 stars on VoiceMap. Downloading the app, creating an account and then redeem the tour should only take a few minutes. The audio looping sounds like a bug. Had we been contacted about this, we could have helped. We'd still like to understand what went wrong so if you could provide us with more information, we'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Alicia
