Claire Buckingham was wonderfully knowledgeable about New York City history and lore. The food selections were tasty, and the HighLine, Greenwich and downtown walks were steeped in the history and growth of NYC from a beaver fur trading outpost through the origins of the US to the present-day Wall Street. Claire was funny and entertaining throughout!
From the beginning to the very end, this tour was fantastic! Jake was our guide (awesome guide) and provided knowledgeable insights into all areas along the way. Food stops were great! Definitely would recommend this tour for those looking to get away from the Times Square crazy and enjoy some more scenic historical views. 10/10!
Jake was awesome. Super personable and knowledgeable. Great conversations and I love that he knew about so many broad topics. Great company and a great tour.
What a fantastic experience! I met Jake on a food tour/walking tour last year and was impressed by not only his knowledge of everywhere we explored but his enthusiasm. He's amazing! Manhattan Walking Tour has great options for exploration of all things NYC has to offer but Jake brings them alive. I specifically requested Jake on my return trip this year to guide and educate us on our adventure. He is fun to explore with and I hope to make it back next year to explore more with Jake. You rock Jake!!!! And thank you for making our trip special.
We have booked triple combo tour (high lines+greenwich village food tour-downtown). Out guide Jonathan started ok: First part of the tour in general was fine, the walk is beautiful, Jonathan had some stories to share. However, when we switched to food tour, it started to be very disappointing. Food selection was very strange and poor (especially for non-US) as well as the stories from the guide. He talked a lot, but he was not really good with names/places/dates etc (according to him), so it’s hard to really deep dive into history of the city..Also the story-telling skill was not really there. We were 4, other couple escaped before finishing the tour. We also tried to finish earlier, but guide wouldn’t let us go..we had to really insist. I guess one can easily find cheaper and better NY tour.
We appreciate all feedback as it helps potential guests better understand what to expect on our tours. While we’re sorry to hear this tour didn’t meet your expectations, we’d like to clarify a few points for context. During the tour, you informed our guide, Jonathan, that you needed to leave early for another appointment, which meant missing the entire Historic Downtown portion of the experience. After learning this, we reached out multiple times to offer rescheduling options to better accommodate your plans, and would have offered a partial refund if you did not have the time, but unfortunately, we did not receive a response. Additionally, the other couple in your group had let us know in advance that they might not finish the full tour, as they were not comfortable with extended walking. Jonathan is one of our dedicated and enthusiastic guides, and we’re proud of the different styles our team brings to each tour—some focus more on detailed facts, while others lean into storytelling. This diversity helps us cater to a wide range of travelers, though we understand that not every style resonates with everyone. Our food selections are carefully chosen to represent the unique flavors and cultures of New York City. While everyone’s palette is different, our international tastings have been enjoyed by thousands of travelers from around the world over the past 15 years. As for pricing, there are certainly cheaper tours available in New York City. However, “better” is subjective, and we’re proud of the intimate, small-group style we offer. It’s unfortunate this wasn’t the right fit for you, but we remain committed to providing memorable experiences for those who appreciate our approach. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. We wish you the best on your future travels.
Our team was in New York for a leadership offsite and decided to get out of the office for a walking food tour. We found Cozymeal through Eventbrite and were very interested with the walking food tours. Claire reached out and curated a 2 hour walking tour of historical Greenwich Village. We arrived late for our appointment and were still able to get through all of the stops (plenty of food) walking at a New York pace! The food was delicious and the history lesson was informative (tons of information I did not know). We will definitely be back to do other walking tours with different groups!
Jake is an enthusiastic guide who is very friendly and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a fabulous day.
This tour was awesome. Claire was amazing so knowledgeable and willing to adapt the tour to visit a couple of T.S. Landmarks in the West Village that my daughter really wanted to see! The food we tried was amazing. Truly great tour- would highly recommend! P.S. Claire didn’t mind that we kept getting distracted to pet dogs either 😂
We had a wonderful experience on the High Line, Greenwich Village food tour. Claire was an outstanding guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We learned so much about the history of both the High Line and Greenwich Village. The food stops were fantastic. My friends and I highly recommend this tour.
What a way to see and learn about Greenwich Village. Jake our tour guide was fantastic! He was very energetic, funny, and very knowledgeable about the history surrounding Greenwich. The food was really good! Come hungry! 😊I highly recommend this fun tour.
