Great tour and Steffany our tour guide did an amazing job and I will recommend this tour when u visit Oaxaca
Great tour, there was a good variety of activities so anyone would find a few things on the day that they really enjoy. Kevin was a great host, he kept a good pace on the day without pushing the group too hard.
This was an amazing marathon tour. We covered so much in one day and we traveled in a very comfortable tour van with a fun international group of fellow tourists. Our guide Estefania was great at breaking the ice and creating a relaxed mood for the long day and was very patient with our questions and in explaining things. We found the Tule tree and Hierve el Agua particularly special experiences and would just recommend cleared instructions for the hike without a lox tour at Hierve el Agua. It is recommended to bring a towel and bathing suit for this experience as well as a comfortable walking shoes and snacks. We did have opportunities to buy street food along the way but the lunch stop was at 4pm, so we were grateful to have things to munch on in the car. The Mezcal tour and tasting was extremely informative and a great final bonding experience with the whole group. Also a great opportunity to buy gifts. Overall, amazing and absolutely worthwhile.
Excellent tour, fine surroundings, super fine craftsmanship at textile workshop and delicate mezcal. Unfortunately, our tour guide was mentally absent, which obviously affected how good the experience ended up being.
The tour was amazing.. the tour guide was really good and friendly. The food was very tasty. We had an amazing day.
Adriel and David are fantastic! Adriel's explanations are very clear and I got to see aspects of the Oaxacan countryside I likely never would have discovered on my own. The tour provided a window into the history and culture of this beautiful state and made me excited to come back one day. The sites—the Tule tree, Teotitlan del Valle, Mitlan, and Hierve el Agua—did not disappoint, and the mezcal tasting was fun, informative, and generous. Favorite tour in Oaxaca!
We had an incredible experience with Miguel from Oaxaca by Locals. From the moment we left at 8am sharp until we returned around 7:30 pm, he kept the day engaging, informative, and fun. Miguel was extremely knowledgeable at every stop, from the majestic Tule Tree and the textile workshops of Teotitlán del Valle to Mitla, Hierve el Agua, and the mezcal distillery. He answered every question we threw at him and even taught us indigenous terminology and local expressions that helped us better understand Oaxaca’s rich cultural heritage. What really stood out was how much context he provided throughout the day. Each destination felt more meaningful because Miguel explained not just what we were seeing, but why it mattered. If you've already visited Monte Albán, this tour is an excellent follow-up because it helps connect the story of what may have happened after the Zapotecs left the mountaintop city. Seeing places like Mitla and learning about the surrounding valleys adds another layer of understanding to Oaxaca's history and makes the region's past feel much more connected. The schedule was packed, but the time flew by thanks to Miguel's fun and funny enthusiasm. We enjoyed the tour so much that we ended up purchasing a souvenir at just about every stop. It was a long day, but it was filled with memorable experiences, beautiful sights, fascinating history, and plenty of laughs. If you're looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, patient, personable, and passionate about Oaxaca, Miguel from Oaxaca by Locals is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!
I highly recommend it; Adriel was a very good guide, we had a great time, the best part was the distillery, super friendly people and a great atmosphere!
