We liked visiting Haro...

We liked visiting Haro and Laguardia - both are very pretty little medieval towns. The wineries we visited were also very different, Cune being a larger distributor and El Fabulista being a smaller family run winery. The facilities at both were very interesting and unique to each other, though the tour content overlapped a fair bit. I am glad we had an air conditioned coach van to take us through the countryside rather than driving ourselves, which was beautiful. I wish we had gotten a little more information about Rioja history and the unique features of the wine and the region.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed visiting Haro and Laguardia and that you appreciated the contrast between the two wineries, as well as the beautiful scenery along the route. We are also pleased that the comfort of the air-conditioned coach made your day more enjoyable. Thank you as well for your suggestion regarding the historical background of the Rioja region and its wines. We truly value this feedback and will share it with our guides to further enrich the experience with more information about the region's history, winemaking traditions, and unique characteristics. We hope to welcome you again on another of our tours.

Excellent tour of two very different wineries!

Wonderful day trip to Rioja! Two very different wineries but both were very interesting with excellent tours. The family owned winery in LaGuardia was definitely a unique experience! My only critique is that we only got to taste one wine at the CVNE winery. But the cheese pairing was nice.

Thank you very much for your kind review. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed both winery visits and that the family-owned winery in Laguardia was such a memorable experience. Thank you as well for your feedback regarding CVNE. We would like to clarify that what is included there is a wine tasting as a complement to the guided visit, rather than a full wine tasting session. The main focus of the experience is the tour of the winery, with the wine and cheese served at the end to complete the visit. We truly appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you again on another tour in the future. Kind regards,

Great winemakers but stingy when pouring.

Pickup point not clearly recognizable. Everyone was wandering around without orientation. Only when the travel guide Franz arrived did the tension about whether we were in the right place ease. Perhaps a stand with the company logo?!

Réponse de l'opérateur

Thank you for your feedback. The meeting point is clearly defined as the bus stop next to the tourist office. In addition, our guides are always identifiable by company signage and branded clothing to make them easy to recognize on arrival.

Wonderful!

A really wonderful experience! My husband and I were disappointed to find that most other winery tours from Bilbao were private and therefore very expensive. We don’t mind being in a tour group and in fact, we love the opportunity to meet new people so this was perfect. Our guide, Stefane, and our driver, Marco, made an amazing day for us that took us to two different wineries with cheese pairings and exploration of a local town. Seeing the countryside from the coach bus was lovely as well when we weren’t napping on our drive home! We can’t recommend enough.

Réponse de l'opérateur

Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We are glad to hear that you and your husband enjoyed the experience and that the group format suited you well. It is also great to know that the visits to the wineries, the cheese pairings, and the stop in the local town met your expectations, and that you were able to relax and enjoy the scenery during the journey. We will also make sure to pass your comments on to Stefane and Marco, who will be pleased to know they contributed to a memorable day for you. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again in the future.

Great tour!

We had an amazing day with this wine tour! They were right on time with the pick up and there was approximately 25 people on the bus. Our first stop was the town of Haro which is a cute, little historic town. Our next stop was Cuno winery. Excellent experience with our guide and really interesting stories about the winery. We had a tasting at the end with a cheese pairing. The next stop was the town of La Guardia. Beautiful and historic city. We had a short tour and then some time to get a bite to eat and explore the town. Really enjoyed this stop! We then visited a small boutique winery for a tour and tasting. Great experience! Highly recommend this tour for the price, value, and experience. The Rioja region is extremely scenic and great wines.

Fun Packed Day in Haro and Laguardia

My wife and I along with our friend went on this great tour to Haro, Laguardia, Cune winery, and a choice of a winery in Laguardia. At a cost of $88 each person, I'd say we very much received our money's worth on the tour. The tour meets at the Puppy in Bilbao and you have to be careful as there are so many other tours occurring that it can get overwhelming and confusing. From there, the tour wasn't very large (~30 people) so there was plenty of space on the bus. Our first stop was at Cune winery and the staff there was great. They were informative during the tour and gave a good background of the winery. Even better that we were served a glass of wine with some crackers cuz you can't beat a wine tour ending wine tasting. Next stop was the city of Haro and while it was a short tour, would love to revisit this beautiful city on another trip to Spain. I very much enjoyed the city of Laguardia though it happened on quite a windy day. I say this because the walkways became quite blustery as you rounded the corners. We had a choice of El Fabulista or Carlos San Pedro wineries and since we chose to have lunch first, we ended up at El Fabulista. Plenty of good choices for lunch in the city with some great pinxtos. The tour at El Fabulista was fun with some great wine. After the tour, we walked around and found we had enough time to sneak over to Carlos San Pedro winery for a tasting. Wine there was very good so we bought a bottle but will also have some shipped to us because they ship to the US. Finally, there's a spot on the outside of the Laguardia where you can take some great scenic pictures so would definitely encourage anyone to make time to go there for some great pictures. Overall, great tour and would recommend to anyone looking to get out to the Spanish countryside.

Easy paced, enjoyable and interesting experience. We visited two very different towns, Haro and Laguardia, and two very different wineries, Cunes and El Fabulista. We have been on a few day trips during our travels through Spain but this was by far our favourite.
