Another wonderful Chef’s Tour! Tung was a fantastic guide, providing important context to all the dishes and stops. The food was delicious and a great blend of familiar and new. Tons of food, but not so much that we couldn’t function after. Really a perfect tour!
Great way to see the beautiful old city from evening into night. Took us to spots for all the Viet food greats. Lights, alleyways and legit food.
This was a great tour! An awesome introduction into Vietnamese cuisine. Our guide, Tung, was very knowledgeable of the cuisine and history of Hanoi which really added to the overall experience
We did this tour after doing the Hanoi day tour a bit less than a week before and after doing a 3 day 2 night Halong Bay tour. We were pushing ourselves to want to do more eating but you learn so much and have a super great time. The meeting point was ok and our guide Dihlia sent a what's app message with her photo. We were looking for a black chefs tour tee shirt but she was wearing a purple tee shirt which was a bit confusing to start with. However off we went on our 2nd Hanoi tour. Some of the places were the same but mostly different. I like the Bun Cha place on this tour better as it was air conditioned and comfy seating. Dihlia was very flexible as she knew we did the other tour so ordered some different things. My favorite was the pancake and I wanted to eat it all. Dihlia even went looking in the shops so we could buy the pancake mix. One thing I learnt on the two tours is that Pho in the north is quite different to the south, it is a lot clearer and fresher and lighter tasting. It was great to walk in between eating and all the food was great. Weirdly the sugar cane juice was very different to the am tour we had but from the same place. We were very lucky to have both tours to ourselves with the guides as it is low season. We have done many food tours and it is a great way to ease into a place, learn new things and also to skip the que to try the super popular things like the famous Banh y Mama Xin Chao (Mama Bread) the que was massive but Dihlia pre ordered and rocked up to get our order ahead of every one. Chefs tours are amazing value for money, there is a terrific amount of food and knowledge provided. they are super organized and by far the best ones I have done. We have a tour with them planned for Koh Samui Thailand in a week then the Bangkok evening tour after that, which we have done a number of years ago. Thanks to Dihlia for getting us raincoats at the end and walking us home.
Our guide Tom was wonderful. Super friendly and very informative. Definitely come super hungry.
Enjoyed the tour with Tom. He was knowledgeable and we sampled many different Vietnamese dishes. Come hungry!
Stella was an amazing guide on this tour the other night, the range of food was great and was all tasty and there was plenty of it and a great variety. She took us to restaurants all around the old quarter to places we never would have found ourselves. We even went back to one on our last night in Hanoi. Stella's knowledge and information was invaluable, thank you.
Tom did great! He took us to a bunch of places we would never have tried otherwise and wide variety of foods. He kept the tour moving but we never felt rushed. He was very good!
We had a fantastic time with Tom! The food was delicious and he had great energy.
We had an excellent time with Tom. He was a very knowledgeable guide who was truely passionate about the food, and took us to some fantastic restaurants for different meals. Make sure you come hungry as you’ll eat a lot of food!
