Visite d'une demi-journée de l'île de GOREE: visite du patrimoine

Description

It was a great experience We not only got a top of the line tour of Goree, I enjoyed the Senegal history and facts on the ride to the port. Would highly recommend
Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about giving us the full experience of GOREE island. Very responsive and picked us up on time. Highly recommend.
Oumar was an exemplary guide with a deep understanding of the history of both Dakar and Goree Island. Spending the day with him was a treat and I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone looking to learn more about the island’s story and share company with an incredibly personable guide!
Great tour — very informative and interesting. Be prepared to wait a while for the outbound ferry, which can be quite crowded. But it is great opportunity to watch the locals.
I had originally booked to meet the guide at the port & that was cancelled. I booked the next one & the guide met us at the hotel. Oumar was prompt, had a nice mini van for us & the other 3 travelers with us. Going to the port on your own can be chaotic. Oumar is like the governor, he knows everyone, he knew where to take us so it wasn’t too loud to hear. He is passionate about the tale & emotions of Goree island. A place where cruelty against other humans was in full sight. I recommend the trip with a guide to get the full understanding of the place. If you bring larger US bills with you, the locals are getting many US dollar bills that are hard for them to change. If you can trade 20 of the $1 for a $20. It really helps them out. Thank you Oumar, it was a memorable experience. We also visited a sand painters studio. It was so fun to see him create a picture from the sand.
My husband and I went on an informative and emotional tour with the passionate and knowledgeable Oumar. It was such a sad, yet truly amazing day—one very well spent. We thought we were fairly knowledgeable about the history of that time period, but Oumar really opened our eyes to many things we had been unaware of. I truly hope he writes a book one day. Thank you, Oumar, for such a fulfilling and unforgettable day!
Omaur was very informative and so passionate his city and Goree Island. Vehicle was very comfortable with AC.
Excellent tour and tour guide. Great understanding of the history and a friendly manner. Highly recommend the tour and the guide.
Oumar was an excellent tour guide! He picked us up at our hotel on time in a comfortable, air-conditioned van. He guided us through the ferry onboarding process and took us around the island. His English is excellent and he answered any questions we had.
My visit to Gorée Island was a deeply moving experience, made even more special by the fact that I was the only traveler in my group. This private setting allowed for a truly personal connection with my guide, Oumar, who has been leading tours here for over 30 years. His expertise is second to none; he is incredibly gregarious and seemed to know every resident we passed, making me feel like a welcomed guest rather than just a tourist. Oumar’s English is excellent, and his commentary at the House of Slaves was profound. He provided haunting details about the "Door of No Return," the narrow portal through which enslaved people were forced onto ships, leaving their homeland forever. Witnessing that site while Oumar shared its heavy history was a moment I will never forget. We followed the tour with a fabulous lunch near the ferry terminal and a thoughtful walk around the island. I highly recommend this agency for anyone seeking a meaningful journey.
