Cours de cuisine d'une demi-journée avec la chef locale Laila à Marrakech

Awful communication leading us to not be able to take part in the class. We booked through booking.com the day before and got a message from chef laila on WhatsApp at midnight saying the meeting point has changed (around 17min walk away from the original meeting point on the ticket). We arrived at the new meeting point 10minutes early and messaged the chef. A man straight away tried to convince us to buy coffee from his shop across the street, we declined. After 5-10mins he came back and asked if we were for the cooking class, we said yes and he tried to get us to go into an unmarked building with him with no confirmation that it was the correct place. I tried to call and message the chef asking for confirmation and then we tried asking the man repeatedly to ask chef laila to show us proof or for her to come down stairs to greet us before we went inside. We weren’t going to follow a stranger into an unknown building. After 25minutes of waiting and the man repeatedly trying to insist we come in and getting visibly annoyed we felt very unsafe and uncomfortable and had to leave. 40 minutes after the start time chef Laila finally messaged and called back and explained the man was her husband and admittedly offered to pay a taxi to come back but at this point we were very upset, deflated and stressed out and had left the area. She also contacted under another number at the time which said “Fatima” instead of chef Laila. We declined and got a full refund through booking.com (booking.com were fantastic and very understanding). Due to poor organisation and communication we missed out on what could of been a lovely activity and was left feeling very deflated and uncomfortable.

The class was brilliant, perfect mix of comedy and information! Delicious food and well worth the money!

Amazing, can't miss experience in Marrakesh! Chef Laila is so warm and welcoming. We went to the joining point in the morning and chef laila was there looking for the cooking class folks, it was very easy to find her. There was tea and sweets out when we arrived. The class was so informative, Chef Laila was funny and knew how to keep everyone engaged. Food was DELICIOUS. Would HIGHLY recommend.

A fabulous moment of sharing. We did the shopping, cooked, and tasted in a warm atmosphere. It was with Najla, Laïla's daughter, that we took this class. A warm and caring woman. A Great Chef! We left with all the recipes and a multitude of tips for our shopping. I highly recommend her if you want to have a good time.

We had a wonderful class with chef Laila! We learned about Moroccan ingredients and ways to prepare salads and tagines, and then ate the fruits of our labour! And we also received the recipes later to help us prepare Moroccan dishes in our own kitchen! Will highly recommend this class!

This was fun and educational! Chef Laila was so patient with us, we were a group of mixed nationalities and she catered to us all by explaining everything in 3 different languages! Our tajine ended up tasting so good!

We had such an amazing time! The experience was a highlight of our time in the Medina and the food was delicious (of course we made it). It was interesting to see how spices and flavours were created and blended to make an amazing meal! Highly recommend.

Chef Leila makes everyone excited to cook typical Moroccan dishes. The food was fantastic.
