This package is among the must do experience if you are in Ho Chi Minh City. We chose to go on a Saturday since the hubbies didn't play golf on that day. We went with a pre arrangged transport. They settled the entrance fees, halal food with a guide. The trip started around 7.30am from our hotel near Ben Thanh. We reached the tunnel around 10.30am. The tour was being guided by a guide who will speak English. We left the tunnel around 12pm and had lunch somewhere near Mekong river. We had the most delicious fish head curry there. The Mekong river excursion started with a boat ride only for the 8 of us with our tour guide and another guide who explained and brought us thru the whole thing. Then we were brought to Unicorn island to eat fruits, sample honey and went on a horse carriage ride and a sampan along Mekong river. We also sample some coconut candy. Then went back on a boat to the jetty. Our trip back took us about another 1.5 hrs. The traffic was quite bad. Overall it was a good experience.
Great day with an amazing guide Lam (hope I spelled her name right). She was very knowledgeable and kept us on schedule ahead of the crowds which was amazing!! Great tour
We booked a tour for just two of us and our your guide Lam was amazing - so informative about both the Vietnam war and Vietnamese life and culture. Really great knowledge! Collection from our hotel, really comfortable transport and excellent lunch at a beautiful stop just outside the Mekong Delta. Lam kept us moving but allowed us time to stop if we wanted to look at things longer or have a coffee. Highly recommended.
Our tour guide was Loc , very experienced very friendly ! There wasn’t ine question of us unanswered. Excellent knowledge of history! He even got us in places not other tourists go . We had an amazing day ! Highly recommend the tour but most of all the leader !!
Went to the tunnels in the afternoon. Wasn't so busy anymore. Seen a lot of the Vietcong war. During the tour you could also shoot very commercially.
Me and my friend took this tour in July 2018. The tour itself was good, Cu Chi tunnels are really worth to see (although there is A LOT of wartime propaganda and many tourists). The Mekong Delta is also fine, especially the trip down the river with local boats! However, our biggest dissapointment was the guide itself, who was not very amused neither interested in provinding information about history nor local traditions, etc. In Cu Chi tunnels we were rushed everywhere without any cause, getting no explanation why and what - all in all - huge dissapointment if You want to get at least any history background there. We saw many other groups whose guides seemed to be excellent, giving many interesting facts, not only showing spots that you can easily see in pictures on the internet. The same was with Mekong Delta - once we were brought to the Island the guide walked us rapidly everywhere and we had to chase him, asking everything ourself. When we were given food at the Mekong Stop, our meal was poorer that of other tourists (local Vietnamese cuisine), the guide, of course did not bother to explain about it, neither we had a chance to ask him anything, 'cause he was gone somewhere. All in all, from information perspective, woud give 2 stars, 1 for picking up us from the door. My recommendation is to take full day Cu Chi tunnels and Full Day Mekong Delta tours separately.
My friend and I were picked up from our hotel at the correct time, and we were just on the tour with a couple! We started off by going to the Cu Chi tunnels (on the way, we stopped at a factory that made art from egg shells that you could buy!). We had a good amount of time at the tunnels, didn't feel rushed! We then got back in the bus and went for a set lunchtime meal near the Mekong river. Good amount of food, but not good for vegetarians! Got a boat across the Mekong river, then got to have a look around some stalls and try some honey and local fruit, before we went on the Mekong delta in a small boat which was amazing! Overall, it was an amazing day and great value for money. Our guide Tommy made it even better. He was friendly, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable. He really helped me out too, as I left a souvenir on the bus and called the tour company, and Tommy brought it back to my hotel for me :) Would definitely recommend!
