Good fun up on glacier. Cave part not open (usual apparently??) so do not book and pay for that part. Non involving guides, but still a great experience.
Amazing experience from start to finish! Everything was very well organized. The snowmobile activity was amazing! A big thank you to Thor, who was very friendly and explained everything clearly throughout the excursion. The view of the glacier as well as the ice cave were absolutely stunning and fascinating. The scenery is definitely worth seeing! I highly recommend this activity!
Hello Camille, Thank you so much for the amazing review! We are thrilled to hear that your experience was seamless from start to finish. It is wonderful that you enjoyed the breathtaking views of the glacier and the ice cave—it truly is a magical landscape. We will be sure to pass your special thanks along to Thor; he will be delighted to hear that his guidance and friendly approach made your excursion so memorable. Thank you for highly recommending us, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future! Best regards, Einar Mountaineers
great experience! If you’ve never snowmobiled before, it’s a bit intense for a rookie. I quickly learned I wasn’t cut out to drive solo so ditched my snowmobile and rode on the back of our guides and still got to enjoy the views. Raymond was awesome!!!
Hello Kelly Thank you so much for the fantastic review! We are so glad you had a great experience, even if driving solo felt a bit intense at first. Knowing your limits is a big part of staying safe, and we love that you made the switch so you could fully relax and enjoy those stunning glacier views! Raymond is absolutely awesome, and we are so proud of his quick thinking and care for our guests. We will be sure to pass your kind words along to him. We hope to welcome you back for another ride on the back of the sled anytime! Best regards, Einar Mountaineers
There was no ice cave. We were charged extra for an experience we didn't get. We should have been charged for the regular snowmobiling tour. The other guests said the same thing.
Hello Kelly Thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize for your disappointment regarding the ice cave portion of your tour. Due to the unpredictable nature of glaciers and sudden changes in weather, we sometimes have to cancel the ice cave segment on short notice to ensure the safety of our guests. In these circumstances, our policy is to issue a partial refund to cover the cost difference. We want to ensure this was processed correctly for you, so please contact our customer support team directly with your booking details so we can assist you immediately. Best regards, Einar Mountaineers
Had a great time with Edgar. Tour was awesome
Our guide was fantastic! The walk to the caves took about 15 minutes. The cave in the pictures is no longer open (closed in December 2025), but they showed us others.
Hello Lori Thank you so much for the review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had a fantastic time with your guide and enjoyed the trek out to the caves. While nature is constantly changing—meaning some specific caves do have to close for safety or seasonal shifts—we are so glad our team was able to show you some equally stunning alternatives. We truly appreciate your flexibility and your kind words! We hope to see you on another adventure soon. Best regards, Einar Mountaineers
I packed a lot of unnecessary clothing for my trip to Iceland. They provided a very warm snow suit, helmet, gloves and boot covers. Half of what I packed was unnecessary for this adventure.
Thank you for your helpful feedback! We're so glad the provided gear—a warm snow suit, helmet, gloves, and boot covers—kept you comfortable and meant you could leave half your packed clothes behind. That's exactly why we supply top-quality equipment for the glacier conditions! It saves space in your luggage and lets you focus on the adventure. Thanks for sharing this tip—it helps future travelers pack smarter. We'd love to welcome you back for more Icelandic thrills anytime! Best regards, The Mountaineers of Iceland Team
I'm sorry, but it sucks! In the end we take a bus then we change and we take a bus, all to do 15 minutes of snowmobiling then a stop and again 15 minutes of snowmobiling. 900 € for 4 people is 450 € an hour for a snowmobile so it sucks. When I complained on whatsapp, I was blocked!!! Good customer respect. On the other hand 5 stars silfra diving, search for aurora by boat, and visit whales.
We’re sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. This experience includes transportation to and from our glacier base, changing into the required safety gear, and a guided snowmobile ride with a stop during the tour. The riding time is in line with the tour description, but we understand that the overall experience may not have matched what you were hoping for. We would also like to clarify that we did not block you on WhatsApp. If there was a communication issue, it was certainly not intentional, and we regret any frustration this may have caused. We always appreciate guest feedback, as it helps us improve both our communication and the way we present the experience before booking.
An extemely well organised tour. All relevant warm weather gear supplied. My partner had a slight issue with safety briefings not been adhered to but after letting our main guide Edgar know things were quickly and satisfactorily sorted. Would highly recommend.
Hello Thank you for your kind review! We're delighted to hear the tour felt extremely well organised and that the warm gear kept you comfortable. We're sorry to hear about the brief hiccup with the safety procedures, but we're really glad Edgar stepped in quickly to resolve it to your satisfaction—great teamwork! We truly appreciate the high recommendation and would love to welcome you both back for another adventure anytime. Best regards, The Mountaineers of Iceland Team
An amazing experience! The landscape on the glacier is stunning, plus we were lucky with the weather and the sun accompanied us throughout the excursion. Everything is very well organized, maybe the guides. Thank you very much to Edgar and Luca for this experience!!
The Mountaineers of Iceland Team
