Our stay at the Sri Lanka Green View Safari Resort was absolutely amazing! We felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The entire team is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always strives to provide guests with an unforgettable experience. The safari (7 hours) was a true highlight: Our guide was very experienced, explained a great deal about the wildlife, and showed us fantastic spots in the national park. We spotted elephants, crocodiles and many bird species – a truly unique experience! It was especially wonderful to see how respectfully the team treated nature and the animals. The resort itself also impressed us: The rooms are clean, comfortable, and situated amidst beautiful natural surroundings. The food was fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care. Hearing the sounds of the wilderness at the resort in the evenings was simply magical. We highly recommend the Green View Safari Resort. A big thank you to the entire team – we will definitely be
We booked a stay in Green View Safari Resort first and then a private 7-hour Safari tour. Just note that this time includes the way from the hotel to the park and back, some stops near a shop and the ticket office, so in the park we spent slightly above 6 hours. First we joined a group of other jeeps following a family of elephants and were a bit disappoined because the elephants looked pushed by the cars from all the sides, but later the group became more sparse and then most of time we travelled alone, giving animals more freedom. The safari itself was perfect and we were happy to see a lot of animals, the driver was friendly, helped to find out hiding creatures, told related information about elephant population, etc. After maybe 5 hours the driver started saying that we already saw a lot and suggesting to exit the park, looked not interested in continuing the safari, stopped and spoke to literally every towards coming driver (looked like sharing locations of met animals). Hopefully we insisted on continuing the safari and caught an amazing posing croco on another lake. The car was in quite poor condition. Only 4 of 6 seat belts were working, One seat didn't hold its back in fixed position. So, overall we have only 3 working seats out of 6 for 4 people. The car was dirty inside even before we started the trip. Finally, it didn't have forward looking sun cover that we realized a big problem after 11am. All other cars we saw had this cover. And our car had a front wind glass (for what?), too dirty to make photos that side. No cars we saw had such a glass.
The safari was a great experience. We had an experienced guide and driver who could show us besides elephants and crocodiles also many birds and even a chameleon. Would book again at any time
Huge thank you to Amila for a fantastic safari experience! We did a 4 hour afternoon safari and could not have been happier. Amila had great knowledge of the park and took us to sections further away from other groups. Most importantly, when we did encounter animals, particularly elephants, he turned off the car and was happy to sit quietly just allowing us to enjoy being in their presence. Never hurried, and with eagle eyes for spotting birds and animals, Amila was able to show us the best of Uda Walawe.
It was amazing experience. We have driver name by Pasindu. And he was So nice to us. We saw So many animals. Nice 🙏 And Pasindu know a lot about animals. Very Good.
The driver arrived late for the morning trip, he was speeding on the way there to compensate but anyway many jeeps had got in before us by the time we started the safari. At some point he and other drivers of other jeeps were following elephants on a tight road, not leaving room for the elephants to go freely where they wanted and he even used his hand to obstruct the elephant path. Not a great show. We chose it for the reviews about binoculars and fresh drinks but we were not proposed any fresh drinks, I had to ask for the binoculars that were a bit old and broken. At some point and after watching some elephants for some time we asked him to move on and continue to see other things but he wasn't happy with the idea so we didn't move. I thought we had the choice since we paid for the trip. Basic info given about animals encountered, basic english skills. The car was ok modern toyota hilux and comfortable. Twice the price of a cheap tour overall. He sent me a whatsapp message at 5am telling me to write a review so thats what I am doing.

Amila my driver was brilliant. He is very knowledgeable about the wildlife and birdlife, and has an amazing eye to find birds that other driver's drove straight past. I would 100% recommend.
Fantastic guide and driver. Very knowledgeable and found great spots to view the elephants. Highly recommend this experience and our tour guide and company. Thank you Pas for a great experience.
It was a 4-hour tour that picked us up at the hotel at 5:30 and dropped us off at the same hotel at 9:30. However, it had rained two days before that day, and there were plenty of water sources in the jungle deep inside, so the elephants (and other animals?) were having a hard time coming out to the outside of where we were driving in the jeep. We called the other jeep drivers, exchanged information as we passed each other, and rushed over when we saw something. Because of this, we got stuck in a traffic jam twice, but the drivers cooperated with their skills and cheerfulness. Thanks to the driver who was patient for several tens of minutes saying "There are no other tours today," we were able to see the elephant from the front. He explained the animals as soon as he found them. He has "good eyes." For example, even if I'm told that there are four monkeys in one tree, I can only see two. Both of them are naked eyes. As a result, I saw elephants, peacocks, monkeys, buffaloes, crocodile heads, many birds, and strange insects. There are longer courses, but I don't want any more. I think not encountering any elephants is one of the best parts of a safari. The drive to the park and the sunrise you witness inside the park are also worth it. My hotel was quite far away, so they dropped me off in time for the elephant orphanage (10:30am feeding time) and then we disbanded. Thank you very much.
