Great wine tour for beginner or experienced wine drinkers. Our group of 4 included both novice and experienced wine drinkers. We all had a great time and learned so much. Our guide, Francois, was very knowledgeable but not at all pretentious. He thought so about the region, the history, and the process of winemaking. The vineyards selected were friendly and beautiful. All the wines were high quality. All in all an excellent tour with a fun and friendly guide. Great value for the price. Would recommend.
We had a wonderful group and guide. The trip was thoroughly enjoyable, and we were so grateful for the air conditioned vehicle and cool caves! It was 99 degrees outside. The wine was delicious, the pours generous, and the explanations were enough, not too much. Thank you!
This tour was phenomenal! Both wineries were incredibly interesting and boasted delicious wines. So much history in this region, which was so cool to learn! My partner usually doesn’t like wine but loved everything we tried.
Really good experience. Our guide Wlad was excellent. In this region the vineyards are small family businesses, so there is no way we would have had this experience without his personal contacts. Learned a lot about the process of making wine, and the business side of things as well. We were given a total of 9 tasting samples, as well as a few nibbles at the second stop. The wine was surprisingly inexpensive if you wanted to get some bottles to take home. Only criticism is that I wish they’d had bottled water, or something to refill our bottles from, in the van.
Julie and Yonn were super! Knowledgeable with great people skills! Vehicles were comfortable! Wines were excellent and Winery owners were very gracious! Met some lovely people on this tour too!
Fun mini trip to see countryside , mediaeval town and taste some wine . Small group of 6 people. Good guide and interesting stops at wineries and ancient town.
Thank you for your lovely review. We’re delighted that you enjoyed the small-group atmosphere, the beautiful countryside, and the stops at the wineries and medieval village. It is wonderful to hear that your guide helped make this half-day escape from Lyon so enjoyable. The Tasty Lyon Team
What a great trip. The guide was brilliant and it’s not often you get driven by a genuine local. The hosts were excellent and Celia in particular was enormously knowledgeable and approachable. Would definitely recommend
Thank you for your wonderful review. We’re delighted that you enjoyed discovering Beaujolais with a genuine local guide and appreciated the warm welcome at both wineries. It is especially lovely to hear that Célia, one of the winery owners, impressed you with her knowledge and approachable manner. The Tasty Lyon Team
We had a fantastic time on this tour! Oingt was one of the most beautiful towns I’ve visited and we loved every minute of exploration and wine tasting! I loved that you could enjoy this tour no matter how much experience you have with French wines, we learned so much about the wines and the region. The pickup and dropoff in Place Bellecour was perfect for exploring in Lyon. I would absolutely take this tour again!!
Thank you so much for this wonderful review. We’re delighted that you enjoyed discovering Oingt and the Beaujolais vineyards, and that the experience felt welcoming whatever your level of wine knowledge. It’s great to hear that the tastings, the regional insights, and the Place Bellecour pickup made the afternoon so smooth and enjoyable. We would be very happy to welcome you again. Golden stones Beaujolais Wine Tour with Tastings from Lyon Lyon We believe we were scammed 1064405296 I would like to complain about this tour, it was advertised as a wine tour, the driver knew nothing about where he was going, he was googling where he could go, had no itinerary and didn’t even know what wineries were open. We travelled 2 and a half hours arriving at 4 wineries that were closed. We then took reign and told him to take us to a restaurant, we directed him to one small winery then he hurried us home to another booking.
We take such allegations very seriously, but after checking our records, we cannot match this review to any confirmed booking with Tasty Lyon. The situation described does not correspond to the way our Golden Stones Beaujolais tour is operated: our tours follow a planned itinerary, with scheduled winery visits and English-speaking guides. Driving around for hours looking for open wineries is entirely inconsistent with this four-hour experience. As we received two very similar reviews on the same day that do not match our bookings, we have asked the platform to verify their authenticity.
This was the most appalling tour imaginable . The guide did not speak English . He had no set itinerary and was repeatedly googling wineries that might be open . Over 3 hours we drove to several wineries which were closed . We only did one wine tasting that we organised for ourselves with the help of a local cafe owner. It was 3 hr before we stopped at a cafe for a glass of wine and toilet break . Unbelievably disappointing. I will be seeking a full refund .
We are very concerned by this review, as it does not correspond to any experience operated by Tasty Lyon. After checking our records, these guests do not appear in any of our bookings and have never travelled with us. The situation described is also entirely inconsistent with our tours, which follow a planned itinerary, are led by English-speaking guides, and include scheduled winery visits. We therefore consider this review to be unfounded and have asked the platform to verify its authenticity. The Tasty Lyon Team
