We did the double safari day and it was amazing! We had an early start with pick up at 4am from the Beruwala area but it was definitely worth it having seen elephants whilst the sun rose. Lunch was included at a restaurant between the two parks and all three drivers were amazing making sure we had everything we needed. We saw lots of different animals and our tour guides did everything they could to make sure of that! Would highly recommend if you’re looking to fit both parks in one day
A very exciting and nicely arranged tour Incredibly dedicated and friendly staff all day. Saw many exciting animals but Yala the most interesting! Most beautiful and mostly animals, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, etc. Many more. Good very good local lunch. The visit to milk feeding of baby elephants was the least interesting unfortunately , long wait and no proper introduction/ information Would have been good if someone from the “center” had welcomed the audience, explained about the center’s purpose and how what we would see would happen. But again amazing care of a guide who accompanied us all day all 17 hours.Full day
A lot is packed in to this long day and what an amazing trip! Our driver Pasidu picked us up at 4am and was very professional, polite and organised. We were very excited to see our first elephant at Udawalawe not realising that we would see many many elephants at both National Parks and at the orphan sanctuary. There were crocodiles, different species of monkey, water buffalo, deer, and a glimpse of a leopard! The knowledgeable guides pointed out these and a variety of birds including beautiful bee eaters. A highly recommended trip if you are short on time, a great experience!
This was a genuinely great trip to two different parks, each of which had its own feel. Lots of opportunity for both animal and bird spotting. Although it’s a long day, there’s time to sleep in the car and the experience as a whole was well worth it.
We really wanted to visit both parks in the same day. We looked at several different companies offering this trip and we chose this one as the others had some less positive reviews which made me feel uneasy. Am so pleased we chose this one as it was a wonderful day. Within half an hour of booking I’d had a WhatsApp message providing me with all the information for the day and asking if I had any questions. I then received further messages the day prior to the trip to ensure I had all the information which was very reassuring. Our driver was amazing from start to finish, taking expert care of us. We were provided with water and asked regularly if we needed coffee or comfort stops. At both safari parks we had the safari trucks just for myself and my husband. We saw lots of different animals. The highlight for me was the baby elephant which came right up to our safari truck at Udawalawe. The safari truck driver went out of his way to ensure we saw as many animals, as up close as possible. Our trip included a picnic lunch which ended up being an unexpected 3 course meal at Reds restaurant. The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious and there were lots of options including vegetarian options. I would highly recommend this trip with this tour operator for a truly memorable and hassle free day.
This by far was the best day of our trip. Doing both safaris in one day is really great and convenient. They picked us up right from our hotel in Tangalle and arranged safari jeeps at both Yala and Udawalawe. Both parks are a must see. The company arranged a delicious lunch and made sure we saw everything in the parks. All 3 drivers were amazing. Highly, highly recommend. We also felt that his safari was done ethically. They didn’t crowd the animals and a park ranger was out there monitoring things as well. While we may have been close to the animals, they could turn around and walk away at any point. We thought they did a great job at respecting the animals. The only thing we wish we would have done differently was skipping the calf milk feeding and spending more time in the parks. Thank you for giving us an unforgettable experience!!
Don’t miss out on seeing both parks!! And its actually teally nice to do both in one day, I can recomend this - we could sleep in the trasfer car and be fresh for the safaris. Yala is beautiful- just make sure to ask to go alone and not with other cars, and take off the main road excurtions. We saw many animals, but the leopards where sleeping the day we went. Bring: - warm sweather or little jacket for the morning. Its cold, even on a hot day. - bring a really good facask for the fumes from the cars, they run on diesel and you don’t wanna breath that in. - binoculars - sunscreen - hat (you can also buy cute safari hats on the udawale stop for 1500 rupees)
Driver was punctual and safely got us to each stop. He even took the time to make a few extra stops to allow us to experience a few extra things. The included lunch was also very enjoyable.
This was a great day out would recommend it on your list to do Need to take a phone and sun cream and water we had a good day Lots of laugh s
The two parks are completely different in style, both worth experiencing, the itinerary is well arranged, the guide is experienced, shows us the leopard, very attentive, very satisfying trip
